'Baby Can I Hold You' - I know he didn't write it but, I was listening to it in my head and love his voice in this one. I love Tracy Chapman's recording too.

Darius obviously loves it too. He sang in the BBC documentary under the bridge at the River Kelvin, a bridge which he had discovered in his schooldays had great acoustics, because he often went there to regain his composure when he'd had a rough time at school.

I haven't heard D's version for a very long time.

I hope we will again. I loved him singing that in the documentary. I didn't have a good recording but enjoy listening any way.
I think he'd have gone that way anyway. I liked it when he said tha he first taught himself 'More Than Words' but 'Baby Can I Hold You' stopped him drowning in chords.
I got the feeling that Darius just laid down vocals for that and the producers and his co writer Kara Diogardia had a hay day with their weird techniques. It just didn't work. God alone knows who in Mercury authorised its release in that condition.
It worked for Marc Bolan - that's the technique they copied. Marc was great, although he didn't have a particularly strong voice, the recording techniques were perfect and the tracks great. Darius does have a very strong voice and the the rusult of the two tracks played slightly out of sync was just muddy. Remixed it was better, just sung normally would have been much better.
It's hard to believe that Kara woman was one of Christina's songwriters. I know one of her main contributions other than input into the production was the ba ba ba ba ba bit. I disliked that until I saw the video and it was worked in well there with natasha doing it over the phone.

But the video wasn't always seen with the song. I think, hearing first time on radio just made me so depressed. It's excellant live with the boys po going around the stage.

Vids can often make or break a record. I loved Natasha B's babies but hated the video. If I'd seen that with it in the first place, I may have never liked it. As it is, 'babies' still makes me smile.

Freefall - although that's one hobby I am never likely to take up. I wouldn't do it for any amount of sponsorship for charity.

I love Freefall. This forum is a home from home, Pam.

I'll still go with Freefall, even though I do not like heights.

It's like two for your money though. The chorus is as uplifting as any of D's upbeat songs but I'd personally love to have a revamp later with a chorus and bridge carrying on the vibe from the verses.
