These charts should be fairly quick to do if you keep a spreadsheet up to date through the year. I have one for the Irish charts - singles, artist albums, compilations and downloads which I'll post tomorrow evening.

But adding to the spreadsheet every week must take up some time

Tim I agree. Its very hard to guess where everything is gonna be which I think is great. It just proves that songs dont have to be number 1 to be popular.

 

And, no those songs wont enter cos they were released last year. "No promises" has entered but not "thats my goal".

And also songs that you weren't aware of being that big do so well. Like Paolo Nutini - I knew it went top 5 and probably hung around for a while - but I didn't know it was in the top 20 of the year.

Ive never even heard that heartbeats song. so i was very suprised to find it so high but it must have done very well

Before I post the top 10. Just a few things I wanna say -

 

1) Thanks for taking part in the countdown

2) Ill be keeping an eye on the charts every week and will do 2007s next year for singles and albums

3) Ill have 2006s album countdown ready soon

4) If your fav song is not in the countdown, just ask and ill post its position it is outside the top 100
