Posted July 1, 20232 yr Surprised there's not been a topic on this already, but it's not the most easily located in the UK! Manifest follows the passengers of a flight that realise, when it lands, that their journey has somehow brought them five and a half years into the future, where they had all been missing presumed dead. It follows the Stone family, some of whom were on the flight and some of whom weren't, as they look to uncover the mystery of the flight and the mysterious visions ("callings") the passengers have received since. Manifest seasons 1-3 aren't on Netflix (yet?) as they aired on NBC in the US, who cancelled the show after season 3. However, when Netflix US bought the rights to the show, it took off (no pun intended) in a huge way, leading to Netflix commissioning a fourth and final season to conclude the story! If you're a fan of LOST, you'll definitely enjoy Manifest I think, it has a similar sense of mystery to it though it pushes its characters to the forefront of everything, making them really easy to root for (or against, in some cases). And, no spoilers for the finale, but its conclusion seems to be going down far better than the LOST finale! Trailer below if you've not yet heard of the show, I'd highly recommend it!! I1hNAIzkQWY
July 3, 20232 yr Author I don't think it's THAT similar, just in terms of an unexplainable mystery at the core of its premise. And a plane. They go in very different directions otherwise! Thankfully Manifest has been received very well by its audience.
July 4, 20232 yr Yeah you can't compare Manifest and LOST, the only single thing comparing them is the plane. The shows differ worlds apart after that, expect maybe some of the symbolism that comes with it later. As for Manifest, I really enjoyed the first series but it definitely got progressively worse and stupider. I did think the ending was kind of nice, I like how it ended and tied the show up but it was a very silly show. I the end I just took it for what it was, which was a cheesy piece of TV.
