Possibly my fave all time first week dance :cheeseblock: :cheeseblock: up there for me too, a little bit in love with him and adore his partnership with Katya so far :wub: Layton & Nikita were insane tonight!! :o truly leaving the best until last two weeks in a row. Predicting Nikita/Gorka and Jody/Jowita for the bottom 2, which would be a big step down for both of those pros being in the final last year if so :lol: just think Les will have a better public vote.
October 1, 20231 yr Thankful that the right person left this week. I’m surprised how much I’m enjoying this year. I didn’t feel strongly about any of the celebs to begin with. But there are some genuinely sweet personalities in there. My one to watch is Angela Scanlon. Fab performance this week. The song, the partnership and the choreo all did it for me. I’d love to know everyone’s faves - pros and celebs alike
October 1, 20231 yr Am I the only one who thought Angela Rippon was overmarked? I have to agree. She is absolutely an icon and a legend. And her foot work is great. But, harsh as it is to say … out of hold, her frame is not always as exemplary as those marks might suggest. Nonetheless she is more flexible than I have ever been. October 1, 20231 yr Oops only got one of tonight's bottom 2 right in the end! Les not quite whipping up as much of a public vote as I thought... maybe people just wanted to put him out of his misery :lol: Thankful that the right person left this week. I’m surprised how much I’m enjoying this year. I didn’t feel strongly about any of the celebs to begin with. But there are some genuinely sweet personalities in there. I’d love to know everyone’s faves - pros and celebs alike I was rooting for Angela S pre-contest (found her really likeable when I've seen her on TV in the past) and she did smash it yesterday! I guess her familiarity with Irish dancing worked wonders for the leg work. My top 5 based on the first couple of weeks are: 01. Nigel and Katya (excited to see what they'll get for movie week!) 02. Leyton and Nikita (unfortunately he seems to be getting the brunt of the 'ringer' flack this year but I'm more than happy to see dances of that quality on the show!! love these two together) 03. Angela S and Carlos 04. Ellie and Vito (not a Corrie viewer so hadn't heard of her beforehand but this partnership is delightful so far) 05. Krishnan and Lauren (he is a pleasure to watch and I'm enjoying Lauren's choreography with him so far) I do find Angela R and Kai quite charming as a partnership (and that leg in week 1!!) but agree she's being overmarked so far, I guess they'll want her to get to Blackpool

Nice to know we’ve got a few in common there! I must make my top 5 too. I love Nigel too. His performances are emotive and he moves rather elegantly for such a masculine man. Graziano is usually my fave pro - but Vito might be stealing my heart this year. I’m not sure how I feel about Amanda yet. She’s a great dancer. But I have read a fairly problematic quote from her on drag performance.

I like Eddie but a 10 for that Couple's Choice... :/ ridiculous Obsessed with Krishnan's characterisation this week *.* and this was a great one for Bobby too - wasn't really feeling his partnership until now.

He'll be safe though With all due respect to Eddie and Karen, Shirley's 10 is one of the most undeserved 10's in the history of the show. Angela's Charleston :wub: I'm really not a fan of Movie Week in general so I'm glad we've got that outta the way with!
October 7, 20231 yr Bobby did really well. But that song / dance / movie combo was a little confusing for me. Angela S was easily my fave of the week. Agree about Nigel seeming a bit below par this week. Maybe the rhythm of the music wasn’t ideal for the dance style though. Looked a tad laboured.

October 14, 20231 yr Happy that Nigel and Katya had their redemption week this time after a poor one last week, messy end lift aside I really enjoyed that salsa :wub: Layton was on fire too!!! It felt unexpected that Adam was top of the leaderboard for a while :lol: I'm really enjoying Motsi this year as a judge.
October 23, 20231 yr Twitter / X is saying Amanda Abbington has withdrawn! So it looks like a three person final now if this is the case. So I wonder who’s going to be missing out (I feel like Angela S, Bobby, Ellie, Layton and Nigel) may be the top 5 but now only three of them will make it (Layton being top 5 but being a dance off assassin from mid point onwards). October 23, 20231 yr I feel like Angela S has been losing a bit of momentum the past couple of weeks while Ellie has gained after that paso. But Nigel and Bobby seem really popular, while Layton could probably beat anyone in a dance off most weeks… maybe still a bit too early to call. This week felt a bit flat on the whole tbh but looking forward to Halloween!
October 23, 20231 yr Yeah aside from Layton and Ellie Saturdays show felt rather like the warm up before the show if that makes sense. Halloween does tend to give us some memorable routines though so I’m hoping it’s a stronger show. Rooting for Angela Scanlon to manage another strong dance as well she really come alive in her Charleston (maybe her strength could be dances what are more character driven). I feel like this series is quite open though at this stage (I actually feel like Amanda would’ve easily made Blackpool as well as despite her views / the backlash against her she was probably the overall strongest of the females).

Her and Vito's partnership is such a joy to watch. :heart: Seeing a lot of support as well in response to Shirley/Motsi's comments. I still love Nigel and Katya as a partnership but I'm hoping for a more show-stopping moment from them again as soon as possible, hoping they get something like an Argentine Tango or Charleston this week. I can't call it at all - I feel like he could either go all the way or be knocked out by Layton in a dance-off before the final, with Bobby still being bookies favourite and Ellie gaining momentum :lol: shame there isn't a 4 person final this year!
October 31, 20231 yr Loved seeing Angela S on excellent form again this week. That Black Swan routine was gorgeous. Some fairly harsh comments for her though. Wish the judges would stop telling her she’s not breathing - of course she is breathing. Right now, Ellie is my winner. Less fussed by Layton - he should just admit it’s easier for him because of his acrobatic and dance training. But I’m still pleased to see gender fluidity being normalised on the show. One more thing … Angela R was blatantly out of sync with Kai at one point. They did an out-of-hold promenade-type thing and had completely different arms. Are the judges scared of her?! Lol
