Welcome to the polls for Week 10! Choose your most and least faves above :jump:

Results from Week 9:

Tears For Fears ran a good race and were still joint top after 5 days, but A-ha - Take On Me ultimately prevailed as expected, with a new high for these polls of 15 votes.

Likewise in the worst song poll, an early leader was deposed - this time it was Su Pollard whom the 10 votes for Black Lace - Agadoo eventually got the better (or worse) of.

Voted for The Pogues/Kirsty and Salt-N-Pepa as my top faves this week, drawing the line just above PSB/Dusty.

I could have added another 5 to the worst list to bring in up to 10, but in all honesty most of the others were so bland (rather than bad) that I've already forgotten how they went down. To be fair I think Rick Astley's cover is of a well-known original is harmless enough, however Bruce Willis' feels particularly jarring so I voted for that plus Full Metal Jacket (a wtf #2 for sure). The Fat Boys' songs were not great either, but thanks to the other performers on those versions I just about spared them.

Best: went for Erasure, Pogues, Bomb The Bass and INXS.

Worst: Full Metal Jacket and surprisingly Rick Astley. I really thought that cover was unforgivable after giving it a fresh listen. Fat Boys are awful too but somehow escaped my wrath this time.

No surprises from me - it's either vote for all the Best song candidates or pick the one I bought and most/still love best, so PSB/Dusty it is.

I wouldnt say I hate any of the Worst candidates, but I don't love any of 'em either. The most annoying is full metal jacket, so that one...

oh love most of those but went for Sign your name, Push it, Sometimes and In the army now

Full Metal Jacket, I actually thought was a #1 :o that's the worst

poor Rick didn't think it was that bad at the time, haven't heard it in like 30 years though

Oops I voted a few days ago and forgot to post. Went with In The Army Now, Crockett's Theme, Fairytale of New York (so hoping we don't end up like Christmas 1987 in this case x), Beat Dis & Push It.

I hadn't heard any of the worst ones and they...weren't the most pleasant in any case, both the Fat Boys ones were easily the worst though, atrocious covers. Full Metal Jacket was odd, but I do like that film. I'd have put Bros' cover of Silent Night here as well, nails on a chalkboard :puke:

Almost forgot to vote this time oops (I'm back to forgetting about the retro forums, can never keep up with them consistently :kink:) but broken the tie for you now x Voted for The Pogues, Salt-N-Pepa and Erasure + The Fat Boys/Chuck Berry for the worst.

I genuinely enjoyed the Full Metal Jacket song, you guys are no fun x
