Posted August 16, 20231 yr Was listening to this earlier and honestly think a slightly re worked version of this song would be a hit these days. Any more? Basically songs that would be bigger if released today Yynstc_bFRE Edited August 16, 20231 yr by Rough_edges
August 16, 20231 yr For a debut single from an unknown band (at the time), a #10 hit was probably everything in 1999 and it would be well applauded today still to get that high. The 2004 version did slightly better getting to #8 as a Double A-Side with Someone Like Me. It could definitely be given a eurodance/trance treatment and have some viral success maybe?
August 16, 20231 yr Author Yeah not saying it didn't do well but saying it would equally be bigger if released now
August 16, 20231 yr Christina Aguilera’s Dirrty would do a lot better in the US if released now with a similar music video. Thankfully the UK showed it the love it deserved but it paved the way for “good girls going bad”.
August 16, 20231 yr I was reading this on Popjustice the other day but those early Atomic Kitten singles very much have a K-Pop vibe, with the aesthetics, the brashness, the fun factor. I could totally imagine slightly reworked, updated versions of them being BLACKPINK singles nowadays! (also Right Now 2004 was cool and everything but the original is the superior version)
