5 Keane | Crystal Ball [192 points]

4-3-3-2-3-3-1-3-2-5-10 [11 weeks]

The number one that should never have been, although being a very good song, I can admit I went a bit ott with the chart run. In fact, the song itself had been released for about a month and a half by the time it left...whoops!

Interesting fact: All 3 of Keane's songs which have appeared in my chart have spent 1 week at number one, and all have very similar chart runs! 'Is It Any Wonder' spent 5 weeks at no.4, and this went one better and spent 5 weeks at no.3! Wierd!

Is "Chelsea Dagger" still to come?? Well, I guess I'll have to find out later :P "Whistle For The Choir" was a great slow song from The Fratellis, their album "Costello Music" is into my Top 10 faves of the year!

Unfortunately not :(

'Chelsea Dagger' was massively, massively overlooked by me and hance only made it to no.30 in this end-of year chart

*Hangs head in shame*

What a great summer's tune! The Kooks most successful song, and desevedly so! This anthem entered my chart in summer and stayed right though until early September! If i'm being honest, I think I prefer Naive but that's partly because this song was massively overplayed - and quite rightly so!

3 Razorlight | In The Morning [237 points]

2-5-6-8-10-3-5-6-6-5-7-5-6-7-8-10 [16 weeks]

Sixteen weeks. Think about that. For a song that never made no.1 (and should have, imo), almost 4 months inside a chart is a hell of a long time. And to explain the cockeyed chart run: Heard it on Radio 1 a couple of times, then it disappeared for a bit, then the video was unveiled hence the 10-3 jump!

:o Top 2 alert! I think I know what's No.1 :kink:

2 Snow Patrol | Chasing Cars [257 points]

8-7-6-6-5-4-2-2-1-1-1-1-2-5-7 [15 weeks]

What an amazing track, I don't think i've ever came across anyone who doesn't like it yet! This is song of the year in a lot of people's opinions, and it definately registers up there as one of my faves of 2006 as well. Arguably Snow Patrols best track, I put this into my chart upon first hearing just a couple of weeks after they'd released 'You're All I Have', and kept it there right up until 'Set The Fire' had been announced as next single. This was no.1 on the overall chart for months, but right at the last minute there came a song which made even this seem ordinary (and let's face it, you don't have to be psychic to figure out what it is!)

2-1-1-1-1-1-1-3-4-6-10-9-9-7-7-8-9-9 [18 weeks so far]

I don't care what the hell anyone thinks of Razorlight or this song, this is my undisputed song of the year. A massive 18 weeks in the top 10 so far, the longest-running no.1 ever and just an absolutely outstanding track. I don't think it would have mattered what they'd chosen to release next.. nothing on the album (as good an album as it is) could possibly have compared to this. Come on, at least pretend to be surprised!

Roll on 2007! :cheer:

:o I can't believe your No.1 is "America" :P :kink:

I reckon it's a massive song, and a well deserved chart-topper! The most amazing thing about it is the "gig/fest" feeling it has!

Agree completely!

I still can't decide between 'America' and 'Somewhere Else' though... both absolutely amazing tunes! :o
