He records from 7.00pm till 9.20pm and again from 1.15am till 3.15am. He completes two songs, Are You Sincere (which he had rehearsed in Los Angeles earlier in the summer) and I Miss You. These will be released on the album Raised On Rock

September 26, 200717 yr Author September 26th In 1956, Elvis drove to Tupelo with his parents, Nick Adams and Barbara Hearn. Elvis had to appear at the Mississippi Alabama Fair And Diary Show. He performed here for the first time at the age of 10. Elvis was wearing a blue velvet shirt, made for him by Natalie Wood's dressmaker. Tammy Wynette, at the age of 14, watched the show from the first row. September 27, 200717 yr Author September 27th In 1966, Elvis reports to Paramount for preproduction for Easy Come, Easy Go, attending a music meeting with Hal Wallis and director John Rich, who also directed Roustabout. In 1957, Elvis drives to Tupelo with Anita and his parents, along with Cliff Gleaves, George Klein, Lamar Fike and Alan Fortas. The local paper refers to him as ‘the best ambassador any town could have’ and urges all townspeople to give him a warm welcome. At the Fairgrounds in Tupelo, in a show to benefit the planned Elvis Presley Youth Center, Elvis performs before a crowd of 12,000 under a banner announcing Jailhouse Rock. September 28, 200717 yr Author September 28th In 1968, Wildman Memphis DJ Dewey Phillips, the first to play Elvis’ records on the air, dies at the age of forty-two. Elvis tells a local reporter, ‘I am awfully hurt and feel very sorry about Dewey’s death. We were very good friends, and I have always appreciated everything he did for me in helping me in my career in the early days.’
September 29, 200717 yr Author September 29th In 1960, Elvis had a luncheon interview at the set of Flaming Star with Vernon Scott, together with some other friends from Memphis, Gary Pepper, a twenty-seven year old MS victim, whom Elvis called his friend. Gary stayed in the inner circle of Memphis' friends until his death. :D

Just before the picture closes, Tom Jones, who has recently topped the charts with What’s New Pussycat, visits the set and meets Elvis for the first time. October 2, 200717 yr Author October 1st In 1954, Elvis, Scotty and Bill played The Eagle's Nest in Memphis, a nightclub over the changing room at the Clearpool complex. October 2nd 1954 The Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, Nashville, Tennessee. Ever since Elvis was in the regional Billboard charts, Sam Philips had tried to get Elvis in the Opry. Finally he succeeded, thanks to Opry manager Bill Denny. After the Opry Elvis appeared briefly on the Midnight Jamboree Radio show, hosted by Ernest Tubb. All was broadcasted live. Elvis told to Tubb that his real ambition is to sing country music. So Tubb's advise to Elvis was that Elvis should be doing that until he would be good enough for something else. :yahoo:

Elvis will receive a refundable advance of $135,000 against a 5 percent royalty, as well as a guaranteed $1,000 weekly payment for the term of the contract, also against royalties. He is required to make at least ten appearances, either in person or on radio or television to promote his recordings.

October 5, 200717 yr Author October 5th In 1957, Scotty and Bill begin a sixteen-day engagement at the Texas State Fair as the ‘Blue Moon Boys.’ They are booked to do four shows a day for $1,6000, with all expenses paid. Just before they leave for Texas, Tom Diskin calls on Elvis’ behalf, and they agree to return at $250 a show, starting with upcoming tour dates in California.
October 6, 200717 yr Author October 6th In 1958, in Germany with the army, Elvis got permission to live off base with his family. The whole group moved to the Hilberts Park Hotel in Bad Nauheim. So every morning Elvis had to leave early for the base, to return to the hotel at 6.00 pm.

October 8, 200717 yr Author October 8th In 1965, construction has begun on the Meditation Garden at Graceland, which is being located just beyond the swimming pool. It has been designed with the Self-Realization Park in Pacific Palisades in mind, with stained-glass panels, Italian marble statues, and a fountain with fourteen different sprays and underwater light formations designed and commissioned by Marty Lacker’s sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Bernie Grenadier. Work will not be fully completed until the end of the year, at a cost of $21,000.
