Don't ask me for advice on love

By Stefanie Conceicao

January 02, 2007

HE croons love songs in Italian and has a deep, charismatic voice.

But don't ask jazz singer Patrizio Buanne for love advice.

The 28-year-old, who was here to promote his second album, Forever Begins Tonight, said people often go to him for tips on romance.

But Buanne admitted he's no Casanova and that it's actually 'more difficult' for him to find a woman now that he is a famous singer.

'It's harder to get a girl who is honest with you, who looks at the person, the soul and the heart, rather than a girl who sees you as a sponsor,' he said.

And while Buanne is marketed as a romantic Italian crooner, he wants you to know he's just an average Joe.

Even if he is Italian, hailing all the way from the coastal city of Naples.

He said: 'I'm not a marketing balloon, I'm real. I think I'm a good singer. I'm not arrogant, I'm sincere. I'm a real Italian.'

What he does take great pride in is being a good singer, and he grows slightly defensive when it comes to negative criticism of his music.

'What did (the critics) write?' he asked.

'Music is subjective. My music is for people who like romantic music. People who don't like romantic music will never like my music.

'You cannot make happy everybody, but on the whole, you cannot deny the album is well done.'

Buanne's debut album, The Italian, was a break-out success for the suave Italian and has sold over a million copies worldwide.

That puts the pressure on the follow-up, Forever Begins Tonight, which was released two months ago.

The album features an Italian cover of British pop star Robbie Williams' Angels.

Buanne, who has met Williams twice, said it was his producer who chanced upon the idea of recording a well loved pop song in Italian.

'I'm not 24/7 the voice of romance. I was just playing around in the studio, singing things like, 'Don't cha wish your boyfriend was Italian like me?' and then I started singing pop songs in Italian. My producer thought it was a great idea.

'We recorded it but forgot to ask for permission. And initially, they said no.

'But a while later, we got a call from Robbie's management saying he remembered me and thought I had a good voice, and he supported me. So he gave the green light.'

ROB'S URBAN REGENERATION

Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley

The Mirror's 3am girls.

ROBBIE Williams has told old pal Nicole Kidman to stick by her man Keith Urban who's in rehab with drink and drug issues.

Rob, who's stayed friends with Nicole since they made Somethin' Stupid together, emailed the Oscar winner urging her to be a 'rock' to her country crooner hubby.

Robbie told Nicole: "Please stick by Keith. He needs you now more than ever."

The singer, who's conquered his own drug demons, went on: "If he needs anyone to speak to about what he's going through, I'm here. I know what it's like."

Former crack addict Keith - who checked into rehab in the US shortly after he got married - flew to Australia to be with his wife just days ago. But he'll be back in the States completing his treatment in the New Year. He's also had stints in The Priory and Clouds in Wiltshire.

But where the experts have failed, eh Rob?

But the 3am girls still manage to get their little dig in at the end, don't they?

Who is Bushido by the way? A footballer?

Bushido is a German rapper, jups.

I thought the same about that 3am article. The article in itself is of course rubbish (unless they have hacked into either Rob's or Nicole's computer :o <_< ) but not really negative about Rob - but then of course in the end they have to get a dig in with that one sentence.

I'm afraid the "reporting" of those b****es won't change much with the new year. -_-

Robbie Williams May Present Award To Take That

Maira Oliveira - All Headline News Reporter

London, England (BANG) - All the members of Take That may finally come together again - even if it's just for a brief moment at an awards show.

Robbie Williams has been reportedly asked by the organizers of the BRIT Awards to present a prize to his former group Take That.

Bosses are reportedly desperate for the British singer to hand over a statuette to his former band mates, if they win one.

A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "The organizers would love Robbie to be the one who hands over whatever award they win. He loves the BRITs and wants to be there in 2007. This would be a massive moment for the show."

BRITs bosses are also hoping their plan might trigger a reunion between Robbie and the remaining members of Take That, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald.

The group have not performed as a five-piece since Robbie left in 1995.

The source added, "It would finally give the original line-up a chance to have the get-together that so many of their fans want to see. It's just a matter of getting Robbie to agree to it."

Take That are being tipped to be nominated for several awards at the prestigious ceremony, including Best Pop Act. The group - who first shot to fame in 1991 - reformed in 2005, and last year released a new album "Beautiful World," which has so far shifted a

staggering 1.3 million copies.

The BRITs ceremony takes place at London's Earls Court on Valentine's Day, February 14.

Among the acts confirmed to perform include Razorlight, the Scissor Sisters and Oasis who will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music award.

Oh and question?

How would they know Take That were going to win an award? <_<

After all, the nominations aren't even out yet. But the organisers know TT are going to be nominated? And going to win?

Wonder what award they are 'going to' win.
