Robbie spends $2.2m on football pitch for LA mansion

Robbie Williams has spent £800,000 ($2.25m) on an indoor football pitch for his Los Angeles mansion.

The singer spent the staggering sum so he and his celebrity friends can't be spied on during matches at his £5 million Los Angeles mansion.

Robbie - who hosts weekly games on his outdoor pitch for celebrities including Rod Stewart and Jonathan Wilkes - is hoping the indoor pitch will tempt David Beckham, who is moving to the US this summer, to join his team.

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Robbie is passionate about football - it's one of the things that de-stresses him. He bought the mansion in the Hollywood Hills with the sole purpose of building a full-sized pitch.

"Robbie is paranoid about people spying on his games. He thinks if he invites big stars over then helicopters will try and get pictures and that will stop people playing.

"Robbie is desperate for David Beckham to join his team and is convinced a private indoor pitch will tip the balance."

Robbie, 32, who performed at the Beckhams' lavish pre-World Cup party last year, idolises David and is delighted he has signed to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Robbie reportedly hunted down David's wife Victoria at a post-Golden Globes party earlier this month to make sure she had his phone number.

He also begged Victoria to contact him when the Beckhams move to Los Angeles this summer.

Dazzleland, these freepress articles are best ignored really.

I am not surprised Robbie feels a bit "worried" about some people out there.

The 3am Girls (cough cough) are another. lol

On the subject of the NME awards.

Didn't NME itself give Rudebox a fantastic review and described it as the pop album of the year?

But then again. I suspect their reviewer actually listened to it. Unlike their readership. <_<

Robbie flies in for festival

Robbie Williams is chartering a private jet to pop to the Sundance Film Festival for a few days.

But don't get too excited- the singer isn't planning to put himself forward for a few films infront of the bigwig producers out there... he just fancies some snow and skiing fun.

A pal of Robbie's reveals: "He's planning to take a bunch of friends skiing and thought it would be cool to get a group together and charter a jet."

I wonder if this trip has anything to do with his new squeeze Michelle Trachtenberg? When I saw him last week in LA at Hyde Lounge he seemed much more interested in a British blonde called Eileen. How long do we think this one will last?

The 16-track 3-LP Vinyl Set

The 16-track 3-LP vinyl set will be out in UK on February 19th.

Robbie's 7th album sees him collaborate with an array of musical mavericks such as Pet Shop Boys, William Orbit, Mark Ronson, Soul Mekanik,Joey Negro & Lily Allen, including the singles 'Rudebox', 'Lovelight' and 'She's Madonna'

Hopefully that will help sales.

Nice to see him having a good time with his mates :D

Here is the link to that vinyl LP

Why is it so expensive?

And why dos it take 3 LPs for 1 Rudebox?

There are 17 tracks on Rudebox which is longer than a standard album. I think IC (with 12 tracks) had 2 LPs so Rudebox having 3 would make sense.

BEXTOR/WILLIAMS NO LONGER RIVALS

British singer SOPHIE ELLIS BEXTOR has buried the hatchet with ROBBIE WILLIAMS following a public row in 2000, during which the pop superstar called her "spoonface".

The MURDER ON THE DANCE FLOOR star has now forgiven Williams after the pair met up and put their differences behind them. She says, "Robbie wasn't that bad. I've had worse things said to me than that. "We did meet up after he said some things and I said some things and he was rather charming.

I've forgiven him - but then I was probably worse so I think he's forgiven me."

CBS offers Wembley exclusive

Source: mad.co.uk | Author: Arif Durrani | Published: 31 January 2007 10:30

CBS Outdoor is offering a single advertiser the chance to own all advertising sites at Wembley Park Tube station - the main thoroughfare for the new Wembley Stadium.

In one long-term sponsorship package, the media owner plans to include its new LCD panels, ticket hall and corridor sites and its branded seats within the station.

CBS is hoping to secure at least a two year deal for this unrivalled exposure, but it could be as long as four years.

Interest in the sites are expected to be amplified by the powerful association with the new 90,000 stadium, despite it being 15 months behind schedule.

More than 2.6 million fans are expected to visit the arena within its first year and the underground station has undergone a £90 million refurbishment in preparation.

Justin Stark, head of Impact at CBS Outdoor, said: “This is the first time we have ever offered a single brand a strategic advertising platform on this scale. It’s an exceptional opportunity for the right brand to captivate an affluent, dynamic and diverse group of consumers who are in a positive and receptive mindset.â€

High-profile events already scheduled for Wembley Stadium in 2007 include football and rugby finals and gigs by Jon Bon Jovi, Robbie Williams  and Snow Patrol.

The new stadium is due to open in time for the FA Cup final on 13 May, although building company Multiplex has admitted a "material risk" that it might would not be finished in time for the inaugural match.

Wed a Shaneful idea that is

January 31, 2007

I THOUGHT JORDAN and PETER ANDRE had cornered the market in tacky weddings — but SHANE RICHIE could give them a run for their money when he weds dancer CHRISTIE GODDARD in August.

The former Daz ad, er, star, has landed a megabucks deal for his big day with a downmarket glossy mag and has asked Irish warblers WESTLIFE and ex-SPANDAU BALLET singer TONY HADLEY to perform.

But the privilege for singing the tune for the first dance, at a venue yet to be confirmed, has fallen to Shane’s chum ROBBIE WILLIAMS. He has been asked by the former EastEnder to perform his anthem Angels for an expected 600 guests.

Can’t wait for my invite ...

How strange, although no-one is more suitable to open Wembley than Rob. I would even go
