Hi everyone ^_^

 

In October, Club Bizarre reaches its 25th contest having been running since late 2017 and we wanted to celebrate that with you. As time has progressed we've probably covered most genres and decades of dance music but recognise that there are other ideas out there that could be considered or perhaps you've got a suggestion that you've wanted but haven't had a chance because you haven't won/hosted. For this 'anniversary', we wanted to give the members of Buzzjack the opportunity to choose the next theme and we hope that this makes the build up to and involvement in the next contest a bit more interesting for you.

 

Throughout September, you will have the opportunity to submit and then vote for the next Club Bizarre theme. For the next week, you will be able to pick one theme and submit this to us. Then, from next week, a series of polls will open in the style of 'singles survivors' where you will vote for your least favourite theme ideas over a few days at a time before we settle on a favourite (I'm hoping we can get this done before the contest start date :kink: but should mean we know the theme in advance of the contest starting which will be a one-off).

 

The ultimate winner will then be our theme for Club Bizarre 25 which will be hosted by Rollo in late October.

 

How it works:

• Think of your theme. It can be something we've done before, a new idea, a versus, a decade etc. All we ask is that you be concise in your description so it's clear for Buzzjack members to vote on.
• Submit your theme idea via the Google Form here.
• If the theme you pick is already chosen by someone else you will have the opportunity to submit a replacement as when a theme is picked it's already going into the voting rounds
• Please keep your nominations secret for just this week whilst they're being compiled and then when the voting starts we're happy for you to reveal what you nominated should you wish to

Neat idea, also good that everyone will know the theme ahead of the contest starting. Submitted my (likely unpopular!) theme suggestion :P

Just popping this back onto page 1 after the usual Friday spam of new releases

I just wanted to point out that we've had a similar theme nomination where one genre is included twice by two people but mixed in with other gerres too. I think given the other genres they're with that I'll let it stay in twice as two separate suggestions given its mixed in with other genres.

 

So for example someone puts Drum & Bass on its own but then someone else goes with Drum & Bass/Bassline/UKG altogether if that makes sense? (we've not had those confirmed btw) Stuff like that I'll leave be but like-for-like nominations will need to be reconsidered if someone else has got there first.
