Wish I'd thought to vote for John Mayer! He definitely deserved at least one UK hit of his own.

BIGGEST HIT: EASY LOVE (#1, 2015)

Well at least I wasn't the only person to vote for Owl City! The openness of this contest does lend itself to lots of artists only getting a couple of votes I guess.

Know it was as part of a group (Wah!) but absolutely LOVE the 1982/3 smash 'The Story of the Blues' by Pete Wylie such a rousing anthem!

For some reason thought Brian McKnight would have had bigger chart success than a 36 in the UK. Much bigger in USA .

Edited by Smint

Shocked Kid Cudi was as high as 57th last time!

Owl City is pretty close to being a one song wonder for me, 'Fireflies' remains excellent but the large majority of the other songs I've heard from him are pretty terrible oops. ('Umbrella Beach' is decent too)

Art Garfunkel only having 3 Uk top 40s but two no1s!

Including the best selling single of 1979 'Bright Eyes' over a million. Although Douglas Adams who wrote 'Watership Down', for which the song was on the soundtrack, absolutely hating it. :smoke:

I think you mean Richard Adams
Was going to say I think a Douglas Adams written Art Garfunkel song would be quite interesting :P
OMG! I forgot to vote for Sigala. Thanks Pete! :P

Brian McKnight was the original singer of Alicia Keys ‘Never Felt This Way’ which is a beautiful song!

He really does add to ‘Whenever You Call’ when this was turned into a duet, was originally a Mariah Carey solo song!

BIGGEST HIT: LOVERS ON THE SUN (#1, 2014)

TIL Bright Eyes was apparently originally a solo project.

Example might possibly have scraped into a list from me too although maybe not as I did kind of lose interest in him after his peak commercial era - he had some great hits though.

The vote for Example was definitely past glories, he got pretty rubbish post-2011, but he had some great songs, particularly the underrated Watch the Sun Come Up <3

BIGGEST HIT: SCATMAN (SKI-BA-BOP-BA-DOP-BOP)

Sir Scatman :cheeseblock:

Kinda forgot Maluma had a UK top 40 hit (a rather unfortunate one to be his one hit x)

Quite the timing for me to be exposed as a Cliff voter oops.

That was mainly for We Don't Talk Anymore, Devil Woman, Wired For Sound and a few of his Christmas songs.

He would also make my least favourite list for some of his other monstrosities

Also, Example was brilliant pre Stay Awake. I first saw him supporting Calvin Harris in early 2009 and remember thinking he would be big. Watch The Sun Come Up was really underrated, and would have been a bigger hit if released a year later.

Edited by gooddelta

Literally never heard of Demis Roussos considering he had a #1 single in the 70s :o I guess it's not something you ever hear on the radio?

(it doesn't help that his #1 single is not on Spotify)
