SA has dropped quite a bit over the past month, but thats to be expected especially with all the big sales over Xmas and a few big albums been released. SA should be able to hit 700k eventually though once Desecration Smile is released. :D

I'd be interested to see RHCP other UK album sales. I was quite surprised to see this had sold so much, particularly as they've only had one big chart hit off it. :D

It would be intresting to see the sales. ^_^

I think By The Way did pretty well but I don't think the others did so well.

What they've sold is pretty good considering Dani California has been the only song thats done well chart wise but I think they will release the 4th single and then possiby another single depending on how well the 4th one does. ^_^ So the album still has a good chance of improving sales throughout 2007. ^_^

These are the worldwide sales from Wiki:

"The Red Hot Chili Peppers" 300,000 - - - -

1985 "Freaky Styley" 500,000 - - - -

1987 "The Uplift Mofo Party Plan" 750,000 148 - - -

1989 "Mother's Milk" 2,000,000 52 - - 47

1991 "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" 12,000,000 3 25 12 1(1wks)

1995 "One Hot Minute" 5,000,000 4 2 3 1(1wks)

1999 "Californication" 15,000,000 3 5 2 1(6wks)

2002 "By the Way" 9,000,000 2 1(5wks) 1(3wks) 1(1wks)

2006 "Stadium Arcadium" 6,000,000 * 1(2wks) 1(3wks) 1(5wks) 1(3wks)

I don't know how reliable they are though. But they seem about right.

SA worldwide sales should increase over 2007 though.

Californication bigger than By The Way? :o I thought BTW was their big breakthrough album over here

I think By The Way was their best selling album over here. I mean By The Way got to #2 here on better sales that Dani California and I think their album sales were very healthy.

There was a lot of hype around Californication in the US though because it was their big comeback album after the whole thing with drugs and everything.

Still it would be intresting to know whether it was BTW or Californication that was their big breakthrough. ^_^

#15 is good but i was expecting higher

I think #15 is excellent. :D

Ahead it are all albums that were released around Xmas, were big follow up to deput albums, had big singles apart from their lead single or they've had a lot of hype around them. :D

So I think #15's a great position considering that. ^_^

According to Wiki again their Greatest Hits album has only sold 4.5 million worldwide which I suprised at, as with it beeen the Greatest Hits and everything I thought it may have sold more. :o
  • Author

i thought it would have sold more than that also

Well it might have done but I mean athough SA got some good reviews (I think. ) a lot of fans thought that it was pretty poor in comparison to some of their older material and news like that spreads so a lot of people have probably not bought the album yet because of that reason.

WELL I AGREE i do the s a but its not as good as previous albums and i still think a one cd version woul dhave been better

Oh yeah I agree a one CD album would have probably been better. :D

Then it would cut out all the filler tracks that are on the album. Also I think a lot of people may have been put off by the price of the album, I mean I know it was a double CD album an all that but I mean £15 is a lot of money to pay for an album that you have no guarantee that you will like.

ya price plays a huge price in people who arent huge fans

Precisley! :D

Saying that though the album has come down a bit in price now though. ^_^

YA AND IT WILL PRON BE CHEAPER NOW WITH ALL THE SALES on,

I think it is. Not entirely sure though.
