It's 2 weeks on top for Department S as 1981's Is Vic There still sounds great, with Sia moving up to 3 in a fairly stable top 20, bar Take That rocketing Windows up to 20. I've been on holiday and not heard that much of this chart in Spain, just newies. Highest newie is *NSYNC back with Justin Timberlake for the first time in over 20 years, giving JT 2 on the chart and the rest of the band a welcome return on the Trolls song Better Place at 43. That's an 11th chart entry for the band, 7 of them top 10's and one number one in It's Gonna Be Me.

 

Two Door Cinema Club return with the driving Sure Enough at 44, their 9th chart entry in 12 years. Bimini is on 2 hits as Moonlight debuts at 56, and Cher is back with a surprise Xmas dance track, DJ Play A Christmas Song at 65, which extends her run of chart hits to 52 years, still behind the Rolling Stones run, but just ahead of them on the chart, and in a theoretical 60's chart had I been old enough, they'd both have debuted in 1965 for young John.

 

INXS have been sampled again, new at 67 with Sgt Slick, so adding to a chart run of 37 years. Emeli Sande adds to her run with another in at 69, There For You, U2 extend their run with Atomic City to a very early U2-sounding 42 years, since Fire debuted. Jungle make it 2 on the chart, Olivia Rodrigo makes it 3 off the new album Simply Red also do that, the late Teena Marie charts her 1980 Lovergirl track, and Ash are back with a new one, for the first time in 16 years - so, Usual Places extends their run to almost 30 years.
