October 21, 20231 yr Author This Week's #1 Single S Club Don't Stop Movin' + top 10 takeover Last Saturday (14th October), I went to see S Club live on their Good Times Tour. This has been the most anticipated concert I've booked in a long time, and this year's basically been one big build-up towards it. I'd seen them before, in 2015 on the Bring It All Back 2015 Tour, but I was ready for another dose of nostalgia for my childhood favourite pop group. Of course, tragedy struck earlier in the year and the reunion of all seven members was not to be, as Paul Cattermole died unexpectedly, followed by Hannah Spearritt no longer being a part of the reunion. Nevertheless, my excitement for the remaining five was sky high and I knew they'd do their joint legacy justice. The tour was everything I wanted it to be, and naturally, there's a gigantic impact in my chart this week, unlike any concert boost seen before. All eighteen songs from the Good Times Tour setlist chart in the top 25, while three further songs that weren't performed also make my top 40, making for a total of 21 songs in my entire chart - a record! Nine songs feature in the top 10 and every song, aside from comeback single These Are the Days which spent five weeks at #1 over the summer, is at a new peak. Leading the pack is classic anthem Don't Stop Movin', which is a contender for my favourite song of all time. It's one of several songs that charted during the previous reunion, hitting a high of #5 in 2015 after I saw them live back then, but manages to become their second chart-topper this time around. Classics such as Reach, S Club Party and Bring It All Back also hit new peaks having charted last time round, while Natural makes its debut. A particularly impressive re-entry is the #2 position of Alive, which proved to be the best performance of the night to my surprise. Non-singles also make an impact, with two of them charting in the top 10. Stronger enters at #4 for the first time in my chart's history following an impressive performance led by Tina Barrett, while Paul's uplifting Good Times re-enters at a new peak of #6, having previously charted after his passing. A previously unheard vocal take of Paul singing Good Times was played over a montage of footage in tribute to him, with the group coming on stage to sing the final chorus with him. I am attending the tour again in London on 27th and 28th October and meeting them at the latter date, so while the tour effect may calm next week, it'll be back in force in two weeks' time!
