A final reminder to take part in the two quizzes hosted in the Lounge this week if you want to keep your position on the scoreboard!

Did everyone refer to Google for parts of this or are you all complete chart geniuses?!

Also boo at every year between 1995 and 2000 getting points except for my answer 1996!

Mid-Britpop, strong for dance (Children, Insomnia, Born Slippy, Fat Of The Land, Dig Your Own Hole) and the start of the Spice Girls... and Three Lions...

Also happened to be the first year I got really into the charts, which might better explain my vote

I went for 2010 based on my perception of the average age of a Buzzjack user and when their peak time would have been for music... the ironic thing is that 1997 was probably my personal favourite year for music

Damn there's a good lesson in following your first instinct, I picked out 1997 first and then changed my mind. I thought a year in the late 90s was a good bet though due to the average Buzzjack age, time that has elapsed since to judge things by and wide mix of genres among the generally accepted classics of the era.
I chose 2009 as I've seen people on here refer to it as a golden year for pop with the likes of Lady Gaga, Lily Allen and Kelly Clarkson all getting #1s. It's far from my personal favourite!
If I’d been honest about which year produced the best music I’d have probably gone for 1983. I didn’t think that would be a popular choice, although Mack did go for it actually, so I went for 2000 instead. I still think that was one of the best years of the century (we peaked early sadly haha), plus being a round number I thought it might spring straight into people’s minds.

went for 97 cos I thought it was generally accepted it was the best year

I'm sure i've read articles online before about 97 being a year with many classic albums

we had OK Computer, The fat of the land, Homogenic, Urban Hymns

My 2 points reveal that I'm not a chart genius at all and relied almost completely on Google, the official chart website and Wikipedia :D
Was Fat Of The Land 1997? I remember Firestarter and Breathe being 1996 so assumed the album was then too. Tbf I could have gone for 1997 purely on the basis of OK Computer!
