Posted January 3, 200718 yr Wasn't this a good game? :o Clearly i'm not a Sports fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I watched this one and thoroughly enjoyed it, did the referee seem a bit biased to any of you? Ronaldo CLEARLY took a dive at least 20 times. Good result for Newcastle. :funky: The good old days of the 5-0 though...
January 4, 200718 yr It was a decent game. :D Newcastle are/were on a decent run of form of late but I mean holding Man Utd to a draw is a decent result especially as Man Utd are in good form as well at the moment. The main problem with Newcastle though is their defence is very inexperienced compared to a lot of other teams defence and then because of this Ronaldo can torment the Newcastle defence pretty easily and he can also dive and then convince the ref that he was genuinley fouled when infact he dived. Thats part of Ronaldo's game, unfortunatley. Baring that side of him though he's a very good player.
January 4, 200718 yr Damn you to hell, Man United :arrr: I was cheering on Man U because they were the lesser of the two evils -_-

Not that i'm particularly clued up, but you could tell because when that young player (not sure of his name :arrr: ) scored the 2nd goal all of the defenders rushed up to him and I doubt there was 1 of them over the age of 19. Damn you to hell, Man United :arrr: I was cheering on Man U because they were the lesser of the two evils -_- Newcastle aren't evil. :o
January 7, 200718 yr David Edgar was his name. :P I dunno what it is with the Newcastle managers over the past couple of years but they always seem to blow all their money on strikers, like Luque, when they really need to work on there defence first. Granted though Newcastle have been very unlucky with injuries over the past few seasons to their defence so a lot of reserves and youngsters have had to come into the frame when their first choice defenders are out injured. If Newcastle got their defence in shape then they'd probably be up with Spurs, Bolton etc etc in challenging for Europe and nearly having one foot in 4th place which would mean Champions League football.
January 7, 200718 yr Author I know what you mean like Michael Owen, how many matches has he actually PLAYED?

Newcastle got ripped off LOADS when they bought him. I mean Real Madrid made double the money they bought him for, because Newcastle really need to find a replacement for Shearer.
January 7, 200718 yr Author Well yes Shearer has been the saving grace for Newcastle for many years now. -_- He's quite arrogant actually, he's got a bar in town and i've been and he seems like a prick.
January 7, 200718 yr It was all kinds of awful. I mean just HOW MANY players did Edgars shot go through before hitting the back of the net?
