In 2016-2019 years I compiled the lists with my favourite ESC and NF songs in "Ideal Eurovision" format. But it's a crime against good music to have one song restriction for Lithuania (and some other countries too). That's why I wish to launch new format and started with 2010 year and top 30 personal favourites.

 

Lithuanian girl group YVA won Euroseason Song Contest in the previous year with "I Dangu".

Obviously I waited much more stronger song from the group, which recorded Lithuaniuan classic hit for TV series "Moterys Meluoja Geriau" and catchy "Kodel".

29. Monika Linkyte - Give Away (Lithuania)

Real result : 10th place

 

In 2010 year Monika was young and sweet, only 18 years old lady. It’s her debut in "Eurovizijos nacionaline atranka" (legendary Lithuanian pre-selection).

Will she win Euroseason - 2015 with "This Time" ?

In Dutch NF all five participants sang the same song.

 

27. Kristine Karkla-Purina - Risti Rasti (Latvia)

Real result : 4th place

 

Ethnic Baltic folk "Risti Rasti" is not that type of song, which you expected to hear in any my countdown.

 

I don't want to remind about that song again and again, but Eirodziesma gave some other good pop tracks to me. In the current "Gražios Dainos" 2003 chart I have two top 10 hits from Latvian pre-selection (Elina Furmane - Right Way, 4 Elements - Long Way To Run). Also you can remember Euphony - Home from my all-time top 100 girl group songs list.

 

 

26. Nadine Axisa and Clifford Galea - Once In A Life Time (Malta)

 

 

Rate : 7 / 10

Real result : 12th place

 

It was bad year for duets, only two from them are represented in top 30 + one group with two members.

 

25. Jessica Andersson - I Did It For Love (Sweden)

 

 

Rate : 7 / 10

Real result : 8th place

 

"Kalla Natter" is my favourite song from her six Melodifestivalen attempts.

 

 

24. Paula Seling and Ovi - Playing With Fire (Romania)

 

 

Rate : 7 / 10

Real result : Winner + 3rd place in Eurovision

 

It’s the first song from this chart, which won national pre-selection and became real Eurovision participant. Paula Seling looks like Shania Twain.

 

 

23. Princessa Avenue - Lovers (Russia)

 

 

Rate : 7 / 10

Real result : 14th place

 

I liked Russian pre-selections, sadly they were very rare. Princessa Avenue unsuccessfully tried to win for the second time, in 2009 year "Never Never" reached only 11th place.

Another their song "Tear" became only one Russian entry in my all-time top 100 girl group songs.

70s was Norwegian glorious decade, their average song rate was higher than UK and Ireland had.

Malta had a short chain of strong Eurovision entries (2002-2004) and nothing good after it.
