It's a quiet week with a sprinkling of Xmas oldies sneaking in, The Moody Blues hanging on to the top spot for a second week, and a cover of an old Suzi Quatro and Chris (Smokie) Norman debuting at 74. Yesterday I had my final day in the office at work, very sad and surreal for me after working there since the 80's, so not really been doing too much music-wise. That said Paloma gets her 2nd top 10 of the year, Sophie Ellis-Bextor also gets her 2nd top 10 of the year, while co-singer Robbie Williams is on his first top 10 in 8 years! That gives him a span of 26 years solo, 30 years including take That.

Cher goes top 40 52 years on since Gypsies Tramps & Thieves, and The Jesus & Mary Chain also last went top 40 nearly 30 years ago. Christmas classics from the 70's (Greg Lake being the best Xmas record of all) 80's (Waitresses) and 90's (Pet Shop Boys). maybe more will come next week after the event...

Hi John!

Nice to see the big gains for "Houdini", "Prada" and "One Of Us" and the debut for "Stumblin' In".

Great chart!

Take care.

Hey John.

Oh that's a good #1 from Moody Blues. I think I missed the reason it's back at 1 here as it's a great track and tbh I didn't know that was them that did it haha.

Paloma and Kylie doing fab in the top 10, not heard new Omd but they have a lot of classics.

Great to see the legend that is Cher climbing up too. Fab for her to nab a top 20 peak

Some Christmas greats lower down at the bottom for the magnificent 'I Believe In Father Christmas' and the shoulda be top 40 official chart peak by now for Waitresses, sigh lol.

Brill chart as usual and have a happy Christmas! :cheer:

Hi AH! :) Happy New Year and a fab 2024!

Xmas was OK ta, I might do a holiday next year as a treat for myself  Hope yours was fab!

Cher 2nd oldest is pretty good, and Believe it or not was a good pun  10 years since she topped my chart with the fabulous obscure I Walk Alone, but she's done 6 consecutive decades of top 40's for me, 6 number ones, and to be fair she would also have topped my hypothetical charts in the 60's with I Got You Babe if I'd started earlier, not to mention charting with Little Man and a couple of other Sonny & Cher tracks.

Thanks as always for the support! B-)
