Willie Mullins and the ever more powerful owner partnership of Simon Munir and Isaac Souede began Dublin Racing Festival week with a bang as Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle entry Anotherway landed the opening 2m maiden hurdle.

The French-bred showed many of the attributes that could see him being a potent challenger in Graded company, particular his ability to gallop and to quicken. It was just as well he had those qualities as he had to survive a sketchy round of jumping.

Mouse Morris will bypass this weekend's Irish Gold Cup with Charlie Hall Chase winner Gentlemansgame and instead keep the eight-year-old fresh for a tilt at the Gold Cup at Cheltenham in March.

The Robcour-owned gelding was a runner-up to the Willie Mullins-trained Easy Game on his return at Gowran Park before lowering the colours of last season's Gold Cup runner-up Bravemansgame to claim the Charlie Hall at Wetherby under Darragh O'Keeffe.

Horse racing trainer Milton Harris has been stripped of his licence after a catalogue of incidents including a "campaign of abuse and harassment" against a neighbour and rival.

He has been found not to be a "fit and proper person" to hold a trainer's licence.

Harris was also said to have behaved inappropriately toward female staff.

The 64-year-old Englishman was suspended by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) in November 2023.

Speaking on Wednesday, Harris said he was "obviously disappointed" with the decision.

Harris, who trains at Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, was third in this season's jump trainers' championship with 33 winners at the time of the suspension.

He was in his second spell as a trainer, having spent seven years without a licence after declaring bankruptcy in 2011.

Galopin Des Champs gained revenge on Fastorslow to defend the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown.

He was cut to 8-13 (from 10-11) for the Cheltenham Gold Cup after his determined victory. The front two locked horns at the start of the straight and only a length separated them at the last before Paul Townend was able to pull clear on Galopin Des Champs

Last year's Champion Hurdle winner Constitution Hill has been ruled out of the Cheltenham Festival.

The seven-year-old had a poor workout at Kempton Park last week which led to medical checks.

Trainer Nicky Henderson said at the time the horse was unwell and struggling with a build up of mucus, but hopefully would recover in time.

But results from a blood test were "quite a way from being satisfactory" and he is not fit to run.

"Very sadly we are going to have to admit defeat in the battle to get Constitution Hill ready for the Champion Hurdle," Henderson said on X.

Uttoxeter Racecourse are delighted with the efforts made to ensure Saturday's big Midlands Grand National meeting went ahead after being rewarded with a 13% increase in crowds.

The Midlands Grand National has been run on the Saturday immediately after the Cheltenham Festival since 1969.

But, while crowds were down at weather-hit Cheltenham, the cheaper-priced Staffordshire course bucked that trend.
