Posted January 26, 20241 yr 21st January 2024 It's 5 weeks on top for Immortal amongst a static top end, but there's loads if new dance tracks jostling for attention and The Black Keys rocket up to 8 with Stay High. Kaiser Chiefs are straight in at 19 with an unusual single, Shades Of Love, love the strings on it. 20 years 9f top 20s for Ricky and co. New at 20 leapfrogging her alarm clock, Sheryl Crow makes it 30 years of top 20s with the sprawling rock fabness of Am I Getting Through. Bananarama make it 43 years of chart entries as Supernova is new at 40, outpeaking the first single from their latest compilation album, very Pet Shop Boys I think. At 45 Jennifer Lopez is back to have 26 years since I first bought one of her CD singles in Florida, Can't Get Enough sounds not unlike an old single from 20 odd years back I can't put my finger on. It might be I Wish Skee Lo or something similar. X Ambassadors add to their run of entries with No Strings at 53, kings do a collab with David guetta and Izzy Bizu, all have charted before but this Cathy Dennis revamp gives monsieur guetta an extended run pushing 20 years or more. Bryn Christopher is back with a goodie, High, Johnny Mart knows The Answer - over 40 years of hits since This Charming Man! Becky Hill adds to her back catalogue, Justin Timberlake returns low key and a bit Selfish for 25 years of chart entries since he was first NSync, which just leaves oldies back from pop star losses from Frank Farian Boney M mastermind and voice on the tracks returning here 45 years on, plus Nightflight To Venus the title track from the monster album my mum bought for her 40th birthday party, and which charts for the first time as album tracks were banned then. Folk singer Melanie topped my chart in 1972 with Brand New Key but I've opted for her best 2 ballads following her sad passing, and the lead singer if The Shangri Las has died, letting me debut the oddly dark Past Present and Future. 1 1 1 8 IMMORTAL - Lufthaus feat Sophie Ellis-Bextor & Robbie Williams 920850 2 2 2 3 TROUBLE - Lindsey Buckingham 345000 3 3 1 9 SEBASTIAN - Cockney Rebel 1055000 4 4 4 9 BAD WOMAN - Paloma Faith 386700 5 5 1 10 GOOD AT BREAKING HEARTS - Jungle featuring JNR Williams & 33.3 810000 6 8 6 11 HOUDINI - Dua Lipa 338400 7 7 7 8 WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? - MisterWives 295500 8 60 8 2 BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE (STAY HIGH) - The Black Keys 58000 9 12 9 4 SHADES OF LOVE - The Blessed Madonna featuring The Joy 134200 10 10 10 7 JAMCOD - The Jesus And Mary Chain 187400 11 11 10 6 STUMBLIN’ IN - CYRIL featuring Suzi Quatro & Chris Norman 147500 12 6 2 15 STORY - Kylie Minogue 786900 13 15 13 7 ONE ON ONE - The Knocks & SOFI TUKKER 129350 14 20 14 8 PRADA - Casso, D-Block Europe and RAYE 115600 15 24 15 5 DEAR JESSIE - Madonna 75300 16 13 4 12 LOOK AT YOU NOW - Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark 491400 17 37 17 3 SEND IN THE CLOWNS - Glynis Johns 52800 18 16 1 18 HOLD ON TO NOW - Kylie Minogue 970800 19 NEW 19 1 BURNING IN FLAMES - Kaiser Chiefs 21000 20 NEW 20 1 AM I GETTING THROUGH PARTS 1 & 2 - Sheryl Crow 20000 21 14 14 9 ANGELS CRY TOO - Lucia & The Best Boys 145550 22 9 9 5 LAND OF MAKE BELIEVE - Bucks Fizz 171250 23 23 4 15 AEIOU - PNAU & Empire Of The Sun 481800 24 17 1 8 GO NOW - The Moody Blues 588000 25 21 4 16 VERUSCHKA - Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark 482700 26 18 3 12 RADIOPHONIC - Pet Shop Boys 452500 27 27 25 8 WORTH IT - RAYE 106700 28 40 28 8 LOVE ME/HATE ME - Mari Bella 90100 29 31 29 4 NO CALIFORNIA - Ilsey 66200 30 34 30 10 MICHELLE - The Beatles 102150 31 19 7 14 DOPAMINE - Mehro 341700 32 32 32 7 THE DAY BEFORE YOU CAME - ABBA 118400 33 25 1 13 NOW AND THEN - The Beatles 911450 34 22 4 12 SAVOUR THE MIRACLE OF LIFE - Dario G 389900 35 29 17 12 WE’RE GONNA GET THERE IN THE END - Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds 177700 36 38 36 10 THIS BOY - The Beatles 124900 37 59 37 2 A LITTLE MORE LOST - Georgia Ku 37400 38 28 7 12 ALREADY KNOW - Gustaph 333050 39 49 39 2 LOSE CONTROL - Teddy Swims 29200 40 NEW 40 1 SUPERNOVA - Bananarama 17000 41 46 41 10 HEY BULLDOG - The Beatles 103950 42 45 42 4 STRONG ENOUGH - Jonas Brothers featuring Bailey Zimmerman 43800 43 50 43 4 I REMEMBER EVERYTHING - Zach Bryan featuring Kacey Musgrave 43200 44 30 30 8 WONDER EYE - Little Moon 105300 45 NEW 45 1 CAN’T GET ENOUGH - Jennifer Lopez 13000 46 36 14 13 HASS HASS - Diljit Dosanjh X SIA 248750 47 26 26 12 ALARM CLOCK - Sheryl Crow 150450 48 75 48 2 YES, AND? - Ariane Grande 17300 49 35 35 10 GIRL - The Beatles 139700 50 33 28 10 CAN’T CATCH ME NOW - Olivia Rodrigo 138450 51 44 1 20 SOMETHING ON MY MIND - Purple Disco Machine x Duke Dumont x Nothing But Thieves 967850 52 39 39 3 MURDER ON THE DANCEFLOOR - Sophie Ellis-Bextor 40900 53 NEW 53 1 NO STRINGS - X Ambassadors 11250 54 54 54 4 SPIRIT - The Killers 38600 55 43 1 17 SURE ENOUGH - Two Door Cinema Club 807300 56 48 48 7 WALKED IN THE ROOM - Channel Tres 63300 57 73 57 2 LIFELINE - Alicia Keys 15800 58 NEW 58 1 ALL NIGHT LONG - Kungs, David Guetta & Izzy Bizu 10200 59 NEW 59 1 HIGH - Bryn Christopher 10100 60 NEW 60 1 THE OTHERSIDE - Ross Quinn 10000 61 53 53 6 BLOODLINES - Fay Wildhagen 45550 62 63 62 2 ALIBI - Ella Henderson featuring Rudimental 14600 63 NEW 63 1 THE ANSWER - Johnny Marr 7200 64 66 64 2 DEEP IN YOUR LOVE - Alok & Bebe Rexha 13900 65 NEW 65 1 NEVER BE ALONE - Becky Hill & Sonny Fodera 7000 66 69 66 2 LOVE HURT REPEAT - Allen Farben & Lewis Thompson featuring Mae Muller 13000 67 70 67 3 NATURAL MAGICK - Kula Shaker 17600 68 68 68 3 FARAWAY - Cast 18400 69 71 69 2 MIRACLE - Shaznay Lewis 12000 70 NEW 70 1 WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO MY SONG MA - Melanie 6000 71 NEW 71 1 RASPUTIN - Boney M 5800 72 72 72 2 YOU WANT MY - Bright Light Bright Light 11200 73 74 73 2 WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT - Dizzee Rascal featuring Jme & Double E 10600 74 NEW 74 1 SELFISH - Justin Timberlake 5200 75 NEW 75 1 GOTTA GO HOME - Boney M 5000 76 42 17 12 LOVE VOUDOU - Duran Duran 159350 77 41 19 8 ARIA - Argy & Omnya 135750 78 NEW 78 1 RUBY TUESDAY - Melanie 4400 79 NEW 79 1 NIGHTFLIGHT TO VENUS - Boney M 4200 80 NEW 80 1 PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE - The Shangri-Las 4000 DROP OUTS 47 12 11 OVERDRIVE - Ofenbach featuring Norma Jean Martine 253100 51 26 9 I’VE BEEN IN LOVE - Jungle featuring Channel Tres 137800 52 32 11 PROBLEMZ - Jungle 140300 55 27 9 OWNER OF A LONELY HEART - Trevor Horn & Rick Astley 135400 56 41 7 SOMETIMES (I’M ALONE) - The Kiffness 81900 57 17 12 STILL BELIEVE IN LOVE - Mary J. January 27, 20241 yr Hey John! Bad woman has done extremely well here. Much better than I was expecting it to. Prada still climbing :P that's awesome as well. Great song! Can't get enough is decent at best. I really wish she'd given us something along the lines of ain't your mama though. Never be alone is great. I expect this one to smash on the charts. It's defiyher best since run for me, probably even better than that. Selfish is a tad underwhelming for me. It's nice enough but that's just it lol. Fab chart ^_^

Fab chart ^_^ Hey james! :) Prada still fresh for me and still climbing, and so is J Lo - I think Ain't It Funny was my top oldie but this has those vibes, so I'm enjoying it. Becky Hill is usually quite good, but rarely a top 10 - as with you Run was her biggest for me (at 8). Selfish is a grower I think, Radio 2 has A listed it so that'll help. Thanks as always for the comments! B-)

Yes thanks the holiday was sunny and relaxing, I'll take that these days as the nightclub scene has died a death in the gay area, so no new music at all, just Spanish dance tracks these days and all the young locals go elsewhere now. The average age on the flight, bar 2 or 3 young families with pre-school kids, was about 75 so I was the totty  Ooh I wish Immortal would be a hit but it's had no radio exposure so unless an advert or TV show picks up on it it'll stay obscure. :( Pet Shop Boys have a new one out this week so I've got the boot in on radiophonic, and Rent is back in too. First hearing it's a bit underwhelming, sounds like the new album is going to be more "introspective" than dance bangers. Yes the J-Lo hooks are driving me mad in familiarity - Google says it seems to have sampled Alton Ellis' 1967 Still In Love and the Marcia Aitken version lyrically Still In Love With You Boy, which has been borrowed by Sean Paul in 2002, but which I know better as Uptown Top Ranking's rhythm section by Althea & Donna. That doesn't mention the melody though, which is also very familiar - the "when it feels like, nothing else matters" hook is def nicked from a big hit. Somebody must know it! :D Sorry to be the bearer of the latest batch of music losses, all very sad. Plus side Billy Joel is back after decades away with a new song and his voice is still fab, and still sounding very classical music-based as always. Thanks for the support and faves! B-)
