Congrats Ansel, I did already know the song but haven't heard it for god knows how long so was more than happy to revisit and it's a well deserved winner as it was definitely one of the best songs here. Great to see two of my medals finishing as the top 2 as those 3 songs were my clear standouts (another great breakcore choice from Iz, I did have a feeling that might be yours) but sucks to see DJ Mehdi not doing nearly as well, with my votes providing over a quarter of its total points </3

 

I can't really blame Chez's continued serial self recycling when it continues to produce results but this was the weakest of the three he's sent by Fractal Dreamers/Helblinde (am I forgetting a fourth? xx) although still very good so the results for all of them feel about right. I wasn't crazy about the two trance songs in the top 5 as per usual but Cedric Paul was the better of the two imo. Happy to see Prayer and Feryquitous in the top 10 too.

 

I knew I wasn't going to do particularly well but I really don't think this deserved to be my biggest flop ever (which it was by some distance with fewer than half the points of my previous lowest despite the high turnout), ah well! This theme clearly not my forte. And I do have good company in that bottom 5, wtf are ATRIP and Todd Terje doing being that low too? :cry: And Joop you are very rude stealing my wooden spoon!!! Thanks for being my biggest supporter with your 5 points though :kink:

Hey I fooled a few people, that works B-) This was actually my back-up choice, as my first choice was technically my first ever veto as it was deemed not dance-y enough, I did submit them together as I sensed it could go that way I'll keep my protestations at similar orchestral entries being allowed through before to myself xx

 

...However, this is wonderful to see, 2nd again would've stung a bit so a solid 4th is really good to see, especially as it seemed to get quite a tumbleweed reaction at the listenthrough. It's part of the wonderful Kingdom of Silence EP from which I also sent Fortuna Redux to the Drum'n'Bass edition (the genres they span are amazing x). Thank you all for the votes, especially all those 12s which is wonderful to see, this isfurther justification that I will just keep inflicting their material on every song contest :D (sadly new material has been scarce </3)

 

Congrats to Ansel on a convincing win, it was one of the more standout of the many 90s entries here and did sound familiar. Painful for Iz to be 2nd again, but great to see one of the highlights doing so well, Just Todd Terje from my votes being done dirty, still no justice from BJSC I guess :'(

 

I didn't think In Love With a Ghost would be Jade! This one didn't quite make my votes, but they were one of my favourite YouTube finds back in the day and they have a lush mellow sound to them, I would recommend flowers in particular if you don't already know it <3

Ah yes I forgot about 'Fortuna Redux' (I thought 'Azure Of The Horizon' was the one you sent to CB before and just forgot you also sent them to the main BJSC). I think I'd rank them The Solace Of Oblivion > Fortuna Redux > Azure Of The Horizon > Paradigm Shift so their results not quite being in order of quality. But they did still all make the top 5 of my votes in their respective contests so not huge differences in quality anyway x

Congrats Ansel :cheer: glad that my top pointer did so well (even though it means I had the worst performing artcore entry :drama:) but what happened with the others? I thought DJ Heartstring would have at least clinched a top 10 :cry:

 

Feryquitous is relatively new to the BEMANI scene but has also released through Diverse System and her songs have populated other rhythm games like Arcaea. The discography is mostly artcore but songs like this showcase her versatility (even if it still has those complextro elements)

 

I think I remember describing Feryquitous on SyncTube as 'osu!-core' but didn't realise it actually was a rhythm game song haha.

(btw I feel obligated to point out for stats thread purposes that ties should be broken by number of votes, so Dobbo/Whoddy should be swapped over and Roba should be behind Addy/Nate, but ofc still no way to break the 25th place tie)

Can't believe Ansel with Praga Khan (and Jade4U) won it it sounded like a very marmite track to me (although I liked it).

Well done to Ansel, that Praga Khan song is a certifiable rave classic and a deserved winner! I'm delighted with my top 10 finish, that's significantly better than I thought I was going to do, given how poppy Isha-D was compared to most of the songs sent. I am legitimately baffled by that result for Todd Terje - then again even 'Inspector Norse' DNQed in BJSC so the site's lack of taste with regard to him isn't a new development.

Haha, I wasn't really aiming for a top 3 finish. It wasn't as 'discovery' as my Kohta Imafuku entry 2 years ago, for it was more of a homage to Sandro Mireno who finally got his first ASOT Top 40 last year! Happy to know it got translated into a new personal CB peak. :D
