I think clearly that wasn't a proper UK single in terms of level of promotion and availability.

Something About Us and Veridis Quo from that same album sit in Daft Punk's current top 10 on Spotify although neither were UK singles either (and I don't suppose either would've been big chart hits at the time anyway even if they're very well regarded now).

Yes that was an import charting I think. I did buy it on CD (it had a great b-side too called Aerodynamite) but it had very limited availability.

Nice find then Rich!

Before we move onto the following year, here are a few other dance and chillout songs I am a fan of that failed to make the UK Top 40 Singles Chart in 2001;

Blank & Jones – Beyond Time [Peaked at #53 in March 2001]

Morcheeba – World Looking In [Peaked at #48 in March 2001]

Full Intention presents. Shena – I’ll Be Waiting [Peaked at #44 in September 2001]

Banda Sonora – Guitarra G [Peaked at #50 in October 2001]

Porn Kings – Sledger [Peaked at #71 in February 2001]

Röyksopp – Poor Leno [Peaked at #59 in December 2001 (Peaked inside UK Top 40 in November 2002 upon re-issue)]

I never knew this song existed until today :o Had no idea Christina Aguilera's 'Dirrty' was based on another song!

I was frothing at the mouth to talk about how underrated Jessica Simpson is but y’all seemed to do well with her so I’m plugging in a song that barely anyone remembers:

This wasn't actually released as a single in the UK, however it did emerge covered by Pop Idol contestant Rosie Ribbons a year later as a #19 hit...

I can't recall in a lot of cases which tracks did or didn't make the UK top 40, so I'm going to be lazy and just drop my top 100 tracks of 2001 in a list (based on chart "sales" points), but a lot of them will be flops or American hits from my many Florida holidays back in the day. Some of them have been suggested already in this thread, some are BJSC entries from me, but one of them is my very first BJSC entry from Shivaree, cruelly denied a final place on an erroneous tiebreak. Still a great record so youtube feature is that one.

This from Human League reached 47 in 2001. It was supposed to be a top 40 hit but some issue went down with their label or something and so it ended up outside instead. Pretty decent track from them though.
