Posted January 6, 200718 yr Source: digitalspy Arctic Monkeys have decided to experiment with a new sound for their second album. Frontman Alex Turner has revealed that the group have implemented elements of dance and hip-hop music to the new tracks. The boys teamed up with music producer James Ford for the album and MC Dizzee Rascal appears on one song. "We've tried to experiment. That's a bit of a dangerous word, but we've tried to push on with that," Alex told the Daily Star. "We ended up with breakbeats on the record. I've always been into beats. We were into that before we were into The Strokes. "For the first album, we locked ourselves away, whereas this time we've been going out and stuff. I think that's reflected in the songs." It seems the Dizze Rascal guest vocals is confirmed then. :o Dance and Hip-Hop elements in some of the new tracks as well then. :o Could work really well or it could be awful.
January 7, 200718 yr I read this on digitalspy today too :o The Dizzee Rascal song would make a great single because I can't see it going wrong Rascal's got a good grime-image to him, just like AM do. I've not explained that very well, but neither are clean cut :D

I've not explained that very well, but neither are clean cut :D I know what you mean. ^_^ Although some people may be against it I think if The Dizzee Rascal song was any good and it had the potential to be a single I think it would be great. Granted some people will absolutley hate it, but on the other hand some people who may be fans of Dizzee and not of The Arctics may be converted. :o I just think it will be very very intresting and at least they're not playing it safe. ^_^
January 7, 200718 yr It sounds very interesting. I'm surprised they're starting to experiment so early in their career but i actually think it'll work really well.

They're starting to experiment very early in their careers but I think thats a good thing. ^_^ It shows the willingness to develop their sound and try something new instead of churning out carbon copy after carbon copy of WPSIATWIN.
January 7, 200718 yr I dunno what to think... guess i'll form an opinion when i've heard it  I have a feeling i'm gonna hate it :(
