I find it quite bland but nonetheless happy Diana managed to get a #1 hit with it 18 months after her time on X Factor. Always preferred the underrated 'Boy Who Murdered Love'.

Their problem was going with 'The Bore Who Murdered Love' as the follow up over songs like:

'You'll Never Get To Heaven' (HELLO!?????), 'Notice', 'Four Leaf Clover', 'Remake Me & You' and even 'Jumping Into Rivers' would have been a better choice. (OK maybe not 'Notice' or 'Four Leaf Clover' as second single choices, but they should have been released further into the campaign and given an X Factor performance...

THIS!!!

The song was an utter snoozefest after the very unique bop that is Once. Maybe she just needed more time to work on her craft, so that she could come up eith other songs like Once.

I remember people on here used to call her DiVi!

Her voice really does channel the Cranberries!

'Once' is one of the songs I played sped up about 4x a lot as a joke when I was younger, I especially liked the sped up the chorus ONCEONCEONCEYEAHONCEONCEONCEYEAH

   Last good number 1 single on the UK chart?!

It’s ok, found her voice a tad annoying though.

I used to really like her

but let's not compare her to Dolores O'Riordan from the Cranberries please

I also kinda liked The Boy Who Murdered Love and think it's was the correct followup sorry :D

The entire first album was perfection.

My Wicked Heart was amazing but the RHCP comparisons killed it for her.

Second album wasn’t as good but Music To Make Boys Cry is amazing.

I've listened to the song a decent amount of times and never made that connection before :o But I can hear the resemblance now!

Surprised you didnt pick it up, it was the only thing people talked bout when released it, did 1000% ruin the song for me :o

My fav song of hers from album 1 is Put it Back Together Again written by the fabulous Nerina Pallot <3

'Music to Make Boys Cry' is one of those pop gems everybody deserves to know

Both albums are basically perfect when I think about it.

With regards to the second single, I do think 'The Boy Who Murdered Love' was a perfectly good choice. I'm not convinced anything else would have done better, they piled a ton of hype into the first single and the album to get them both to #1 and they dropped down the chart very quickly (unfortunately)
