I think Eat Your Young would have done a bit better if released now. The charts feel a bit more accessible to that style of music right now.

I was comparing that anything can happen when comes to taylor Joseph literally put Anti hero's opening 3 posts earlier

Don't forget the initial focus track for '1989 (TV)' was '$lut'... but 'Is It Over Now?' started getting momentum as the week progressed and people weren't really feeling the focus track (so had IION? been the focus track from the start, I assume it would have debuted with a higher number)

I'm sure the lead Taylor single will perform more like Anti-Hero than any of the re-releases given it's brand new material. It will debut at #1 for sure.

 

The thing about her releases is sales do tend to peak in the first week though so if Hozier (or insert contender here) is pulling very strong numbers it could only stay there the one week.

I just can't see a Hozier track doing anywhere near the numbers required to compete with a Swift lead single. I don't see it happening.
