Time for 2007 now where Girls Aloud and Sugababes dominated (as they had been the previous 4-5 years). This week actually marks 17 years since their Comic Relief collab 'Walk This Way' hit number one! Both came back later in the year with critically and commercially successful eras - Sugababes scoring another #1 single and album with About You Now/Change. Girls Aloud gave us the brilliantly erratic Sexy! and Call the Shots saw them score their longest charting single to date in the UK at that point (maybe it's still the case?). The album was also praised by many critics and fans, recognising the girls' growth musically. Booty Luv - a third of Big Brovaz - became a surprise success at the end of 2006 with their club track Boogie 2nite. They managed another three top 20 singles and a top 20 album before vanishing (besides a top 20 hit two years later).

Same as me. Fantastic era from GA and I was close to picking CSF but 'Denial' was and is still very enjoyable. I enjoyed Booty Luv too but they didn't compare for me.

Era: Tangled Up - my favourite girl-group album of all-time *.*

Lead single: Sexy! No No No... - my favourite Girls Aloud song!

Second single: Call The Shots - another brilliant single

Third single: Can't Speak French - this probably would've gone to 'Denial' in the past but 'Can't Speak French' has grown on me soooo much over the years, so a GA sweep it is

Sugababes for all 4. I did consider 'Call The Shots' for the third as it's in GA's top 3 for me but then 'Change' was a #1 in my personal chart so... :P

'Can't Speak French' is decent too!

Almost a clean sweep for Girls Aloud, apart from Booty Luv for 2nd single

YVA - Blondines

The first track from album "Brunetes Blondines" spent 11 (!!!) weeks on the top (the second result in a history of my chart).

Obviously it was the best year for Lithuanian girl groups. Mango and Mokinukes also released their albums and two classic hits "Glamonėjai" and "Melagis".

Tangled Up is my favourite girl group album and I think as a complete era, it’s definitey the strongest. I love ‘Change’ so much though and it’s my fave Sugababes album and the singles were perfect.

AYN vs Sexy was insanely hard. But AYN is one of my favourite songs of all time.
