Day 10:

A song you like from one of your favourite albums post COVID-19

Raleigh Ritchie - Squares [Album: Andy]

As the resident Raleigh Ritchie stan, I have to choose this absolute BEAUT of a song for this. The album waas released in June 2020 and it was immediate LOVE for me. He struck 2 for 2 in albums and this is one of the most gorgeous songs I've heard. The strings are absolutely WONDERFUL. Deserves way more attention. So if you have a spare 4 mins, please give this beaut a go

Day 01 A song you like with a day in the title: Panic! At the Disco - Say Amen (Saturday Night)

Day 02 A song by someone who appeared on a TV talent show: Misha B - Do You Think of Me?

Day 03 A song you like that makes you feel nostalgic: Big Brovaz - Baby Boy

Day 04 A song you like with a US state in the title: Amelia Lily - California

Day 05 A song you would have as your walk on music: Mercedes Moné - CEO

Day 06 A song you like that reminds you of a vacation: Kimberley Locke - A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes

Day 07 A song you like that is instrumental, no lyrics: John Murphy - Adagio In D Minor

Day 08 A song you like with a planet in the title: Rêve - Saturn Return

Day 09 A song from the 20th Century that you only recently discovered: Mariah Carey - Prisoner

Day 10 A song you like named after someone famous: BUSTED - Britney

Day 11 A song you like from one of your favourite albums post COVID-19: Raleigh Ritchie - Squares [Album: Andy]

Ugh at me nominating another hardstyle song, but it gotta be this one.

Released 4 months after THE global news, silver bullet was the reason why I considered Phuture Noize the Porter Robinson/Madeon of hardstyle.

All tracks are great & no skip, but this one's probably one of my Top 200 all-time faves:

April 11th – A song you like from one of your favourite albums post COVID-19 [Challenged by Tafty³³³]

The highly anticipated debut album by CamelPhat, Dark Matter, was released in 2022 and featured all their hits up to that point, as well as this one with Jem Cooke which was a stunner. Hopefully it won’t be long before they have another chart hit again.

CamelPhat & Jem Cooke – Silenced

My favourite track from Voyage apart from Don’t Shut Me Down. Musically it’s great and catchy and ends with a lovely homage to SOS. It’s the storytelling that really makes it super-special though.

It’s from the point of view of a mum leaving her son with her ex who’s his father for the weekend. Outwardly she just tells him to keep an eye on Dan and that she’ll collect him on Sunday, but it becomes clear from her inner narrative that she still loves her ex. In the final chorus her ex joins in very softly and you hear a male voice in the background, and the hidden lyrics make it clear that he still loves her too.

Will pick a non single from Miley's Plastic Hearts album and her collab with Billy Idol on 'Night Crawling'. One of the highlights. Didn't disappoint for me!

Song you like named after someone famous: Sam Feldt feat. RANI - Post Malone :sarah:

My backup choices were Sheryl Crow - Steve McQueen and Bryce Vine - Drew Barrymore

Phoebe Bridgers - Chinese satellite

So many great albums released in the last few years

Phoebe, Taylor, Boygenius, Billie

Some recorded during the pandemic and released shortly after

Like Folklore or Phoebe’s Punisher

Day 11 Renée Rapp - The Wedding Song

Could have gone with any song from this album tbf it's absolute perfection, Reneè Rapp can do no wrong

Day 11 - A song you like from one of your favourite albums post COVID-19

JID & Kenny Mason - Dance Now

Although 'The Forever Story' may have been released in 2022, a big chunk of the hip-hop classic was apparently recorded during the pandemic in 2020! Very, very strange times....

Day 1 – A song you like with a day in the title - Lil Yachty - A Cold Sunday

Day 2 – A song by someone who appeared on a TV Talent show - Beyoncé - AMERIICAN REQUIM

Day 3 – A song you like that makes you feel nostalgic - D12 - My Band

Day 4 – A song you like with a US state in the title - Noah Kahan - Maine

Day 5 – A song you would have as your walk-on music - Travis Scott - FE!N (feat. Playboi Carti)

Day 6 – A song you like that reminds you of a vacation - The 1975 - It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)

Day 7 – A song you like that is instrumental with no lyrics - Four Tet - Three Drums

Day 8 - A song you like with a planet in the title - Justice & Miguel - Saturnine

Day 9 - A song from the 20th century that you only recently discovered - Neutral Milk Hotel - Two-Headed Boy

Day 10 - A song you like named after someone famous - SZA - Drew Barrymore

Day 11 - A song you like from one of your favourite albums post COVID-19 - JID & Kenny Mason - Dance Now

Day 11: I associate the pandemic mostly with albums that sound a bit like Folklore - that kind of slow, quiet feeling of everything coming to a stop. So I've gone for this gorgeous track by Clairo

Day 11 - song from a post covid album

Very few albums from this decade so far have become absolute mainstays on rotation in full for me (although Future Nostalgia, Voyage, and What The Future Holds will probably join my all-time faves) but one that absolutely has is Build A Problem by dodie, from 2021.

Hard to pick a favourite album track, but Rainbow is absolutely beautiful.

No idea how this works, first time I've seen this thread, but do I just post my entry here, like so?

I've always been a sucker for a song that tells a story and this one is told beautifully!

Two people fighting over Miles Cyrus for the same day… and they are my fellow 21st Century moderators… How should I decide this one?

Oops didn’t realise it had to be a different artist. I’ll change :kink:
