I think it's a great idea atm.

Will have to see what happens in coming weeks as people start to be made aware of the changes.

I'm undecided, as its too early to judge it, when sales are at its weakest point at this time of the year, come around April ahould see a slight improvement, but I do like the new look of it, but album tracks should not be incorporated

As my charts for my own use in Access, have had a major refit for this year and beyond

New Entries, Re Entries, Download Entries, Album Tracks, Climbers, Fallers and Non Movers

I agree, album tracks will make it pointless, meaningless and a overall mess of a chart!

im unsure at the moment
yes.. in a way coz its fairer, because if people like a song no matter how old it is and they download it then it deserves to be in the chart and it will be now. but i dont like the fact about album tracks coz if theyre not released as a single i dont think they should be in the chart. :arrr:
If it stays like this then yes but when the rules start to be manipulated then no. All you need is Westlife's fans to pick a low selling week to all download one of their songs that never made number one and get it to number one/ Then people won't be loving them...

Ah, but it's not actually a *singes* chart now, but a tracks chart... :)

That would be impossible to co-ordinate, and besides the OCC must surely have measures in place to combat blatant manipulation.

After all, if a download appears from nowhere, with no promotion, no TV push, no airplay, no artist death, etc, it is going to look highly suspicious!

Yes, I like it! More excitement!

To be honest I don't think album tracks could do any damage to the top 40. Maybe lower down the chart.

But is record buying not all manipulated in some way or another. Stuff that's played on radio or advertised on tv is manipulation by the record companies and radio stations. That influences what people buy. I see no reason why it would be DSQ, especially if there wasn't multiple buying. The whole point of these rules are that "ANY SALE COUNTS" Surely if they were to disqualify a song then the rules would be a complete farce and it's nothing to do with any sale counts?

me too, if its going to be re-entries for all of last years songs than no but it would be nice to see the older songs re-entering, though i cant wiat for the xmas chart next year Mariah Carey yay  we'll have to wait and see but its something to look forward too
