January 8, 200718 yr Love it, now you can tell what people are buying without question - my only thought is album tracks should possibly be excluded, but other than that - fantastic and about time the OCC made a good decision!
January 8, 200718 yr I don't think album tracks will be a big deal I mean they doubt they'll chart anyway I mean why would people buy album tracks? Unless of course it causes contreversial
January 8, 200718 yr Yes, love them! :D And if some stupid campaign does come up to get another Westlife single to #1 or something, I would hate the song but it would make an interesting chart! ^_^
January 8, 200718 yr No, it's a mess. LifeLight That is why I really like the chart. It has made it unpredictable again. Take this week coming up - Mika's Grace Kelly single is available to download three week's before the physical single & Kylie Minogue's exclusive new song White Diamond is available to download from her live Showgirl album - both could be in the Top40 come Sunday evening. To think the charts were dying on their backsides c.2000 when we had 40+ #1 hit singles - You could look at the release schedule and accurately predict the different acts that were going to be #1 (for just one week each) for up to two months in advance. It totally devalued the credibility of the charts IMHO. While the aVerage number of week's a track spent in the Top40 was just over 4 weeks = dreadful times. I don't think you can do that now - it is getting back to the golden age of 1960s - mid 1980s, where you have the excitement of records climbing the chart, peak then fall (unless an act spent money on an expensive promotional video - to get the song climbing again).
