The highest new entry is a debut from Myles Smith, no idea who he is, but Stargazing is dead catchy, in at 46. There's lots of Eurovision-connected upward movement, and Teddy Swims gets his 2nd chart entry with The Door at 60. Glad you like it though :cheer: Yes I agree about The Detroit Spinners, really it should have been reissued in 1973 after Could It Be I'm Falling was a hit, think they'd have got 3 in a row, but it got no UK airplay at all. This is it's first-ever chart run for me, excluding my retro 1972 chart the other year (which isn't "official" for chart stats purposes), but I loved the Terri Wells hit cover in '84. Loreen did a great performance at ESC, but tbh every track/performance underperformed chartwise compared to 22/23. Pity! Pet Shop Boys have always had an eccentric release strategy, they do what they both feel like doing, and I think one can veto a potential radio hit or other, they've missed many obvious biggies over the years - though granted a lot of my faves are too laid-back to be radio 2 listed (New London Boy, for example, is the best track on the album, but it's niche, not everyone is going to relate to the lyrics as much as I do :lol: ) I often go for melody over hook. Yes, good to see majestic charting, the Whispers sample makes it. Empire Of The Sun keep banging out catchy pop "hits" and radio keeps ignoring them, just like Pnau. 15 years ago they would all have been hits. The music biz is SO fickle! :lol: Thanks as ever for the big listings! B-)
