10/10 is correct. The inventiveness that we have seen in the last few years has been phenomenal.

also 10/10 for 2020s

1990-1997 were a bit of a washout under 3-4 highlights each year. Way too much crap. 1998 felt like a move into a new era (perhaps thanks to widespread televoting) and I really enjoyed most of the contests up to and including 2009. Very diverse, great songs and novelties alike, moving away from that very dated world music sound.

 

A few weaker years followed in the 2010s (again, with a few major highlights - Satellite, Euphoria, Undo, Calm After The Storm). But for me the overall quality has definitely picked up in the last five or six years.

 

80s were great for the classic schlager entries, 70s was a lot of naff kitsch for me but there are some gems in there too, particularly the 1974 contest and later in the decade.
