I thought we had a Natasha thread but I can't find it so I'll put this here.

 

The pilot for the legal series that Natasha is lined up to star in alongside Johnny Lee Miller, Eli Stone, is to be shown on ABC in the US on 1st June.

 

I wondered if a decision had been made to go ahead with it, because of something I read on DS. I hope so. It sounds like another perfect part for Natasha. According to an article on DS, George Michael is to have a recurring role if it does. He says the writers wanted to name each episode after one of his songs.

 

I wonder when the Tourist will be in cinemas. It's post-production, as is the Canadian mini-series she did, Would Be Kings . I'm assuming The Tourist won't be out this month or next because Ewan Mc Gregor is off on another marathon bike ride, this time from John O'Groats to the tip of South Africa.

I hope our media don't get up to their old tricks linking Darius to female cast members of G & D or any other woman he happens to be seen with socially. It irritates me. I can't think how he must feel.

I think both Darius and Natasha know enough about the media to ignore that sort of thing.

Yes, I'm sure they do, but IMHO gives a bad impression of Darius, as a guy who runs after anything in skirts.

 

Since I posted this morning I've read that ABC are going ahead with at least the first series and will start to show it mid-season, so that will probably mean that when Darius gets back to LA, Natasha will be filming. I hope its filmed in LA.

I believe that Eli Stone is being filmed in L.A. downtown in City Hall, although I thought I read somewhere that the

first episode was filmed in N.Y.

Of some 112 pilots being considered this spring by the broadcast networks, only about 40 were expected to make it,

so Eli Stone has done well so far.

The male star, Jonny Lee Miller, 34 years old, [whose first wife was Angelina Jolie] has taken up residence in L.A.

I didn't know about Johnny Lee and Angelina Jolie. She only came on to my radar when she was with Billy Bob Thornton.

I was flicking the tele today and came across Have I Got News For You 2001. I didn't watch the programme until much later series, so I decided to have a look.

 

What a pleasant surprise. There on the series collage, right behind Paul Merton's shoulder and next to a stern Anne Robinson, is Darius. Despite the goatee he looks very young to me.

I remember him on that programme Baytree, he did look young and so so different to now.

I'm sure it was Never Mind The Buzzcocks that Darius was on in 2001.

 

I suppose he could have been on Have I got news For You but in that episode and probably the whole series, Darius was one of the personalities featured on the large background collage - I recognised a load of labour politicians - Tony B, John P, Peter Mandelson - as well as George W Bush, Cherie Booth, I think Sophie of Wessex, a sporting face I recognised but can't name, Lester Piggot (?), Anne Robinson and maybe one or 2 others. It kinda shows how deeply the image of Darius was ingrained in the public consciousness. Shame it was for all the wrong reasons when all the right ones had also been apparent.

It was a March episode of NMTB, shortly after Popstars had finished.

 

Dane Bowyers (sp) was a guest on the same show. They both got quite a lot of stick and Darius was his own lovely self and took it all good heartedly but unfortunately Dane came over as a bit up himself.

 

I keep hoping it will turn up on one of the digital channels or on DVD.

I used to wonder what happened to Claire (Friedland?)from Popstars.

 

She apparently released a song on her own label and it got into the top forty and got into the guinness book of records for being the first artist to have a hit with her debut on her own label.

 

Now she is still going in Scotland. She's in a band called Sound Advice and they play a lot of weddings and such.

 

 

 

She came over very well. I felt it was as unlikely that they'd have her in a band as Darius. Complete individuals. Very shortsighted though.

According to the Daily Star (again!!) today there are plans for a new movie based on Elvis' life. They have lined up Ray Liotta (52) to play Elvis at the end of his life but film bosses are still looking for an up-and-coming actor to play the younger version. This is the sort of role I have always imagined Darius playing - I have always thought he had an Elvis look about him (but much better looking in my opinion!! :rolleyes: :D ), he has the sexy voice and moves and we know he can manage an American accent!! Has anyone else envisaged D playing Elvis (apart from on the Des O'Connor Show!! :lol: ) ?

but Darius looked and sounded like the sort of Elvis I would have liked a whole lot more- . in fact after seeing the news about Elvis, anniversarys and the sort, I had to go watch that Des Oconner clip again! darius was fantastic, and I believe Des and the audience were delighted too,by the applause he got on starting to sing and the way Des encouraged him to continue with the next verse, I dont think Elvis was very tall though was he>

Ive always imagined Darius as Elvis but perhaps not playing him because of his height but as a new similar version but always thought he has a similar look.
