I loved Elvis and if Darius wanted to do something like this then I'd support him...not sure I'd want it though

I'd rather he did a different type of film. Kurt Russel is a lot shorter than Elvis but played him well, so I don't think height is a major problem - unless the old Elvis had to be matched.
I would love to see darius turn up in a movie - long wavey hair and beard, full of eastern mystery..I always think he would have made a great arabian bandit/warrior as the one in the Mummy film.. I liked that film, because I liked the bearded bandit leader(imagining darius in the part)..and the mummy was rather attractive in a strange way!! well when he had his skin on that is..LOL

You know how I keep telling Nina she's weird - well, I'm going to add you to that little group. Likeing someone who keeps decomposing is a VERY bad way to go.
PIPs description of the bandit leader reminds me very much of the musical the desert song, Darius would have been perfect in that part, unfortunately that musical in this day and time is a bit dated, it was the era of the student prince, bless the bride, merry widow etc etc all great musicals in their time but then maybe brought up to date as les mis is of a different era yet successful.
They are just showing Elvis on Richard and Judy wearing a very dark suit and I have to say that D does look like him especially wearing a suit.
They are both charismatic, attractive men who can sing very well. I do like Darius as Darius though
I'd prefer to see Darius on stage singing with guitar than in any film or acting on stage. Nice as it was to see him in Chicago and Guys and Dolls, it's not what I want him to do long term.
I have to say that I loved him in chicago and guys and dolls, felt it came naturally to him and showed his acting ability and would love to see him in a musical film. I do agree with what Nina says but only on his own aka Maidstone. I dont want to see all those other acts alongside him at festivals etc as I had enough of whistles blowng in my ear . Loved Maidstone, could concentrate and the Butlins private concert.
I'd go stand through no end of acts for the chance to see him perform his own stuff again. Preferably his new own stuff.

We now know a lot more than we did during Popstars about Darius's talents. Then he was obviously a charismatic young man with a great singing voice and a talent and desire to write his own music. Since then he's risen to every challenge across a wide spectrum of entertainment and I certainly don't think we've seen anywhere near what he's capable of doing in the long-term IF he gets the opportunities.

What I do feel is that he has to be prepared to put down his burden of responsibilities and be a little more selfish i.e pursue what he wants with determination and single mindedness and be ready to give as much time as necessary, without always trying to square the circle to please everyone all of the time.

Then he needs to find decent agents in the US and UK, instead of SF.

He does listen to people with experience. It's really difficult if people he trusts push him in a different direction. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I think I would, but I'm not sure.

I'd only do that if it was much like the status quo - fly in, do a cluster of gigs and fly back without indicating when the next cluster might be. In those circumstances, I'd need to go to see him wherever he was and if I had to, sit/stand through endless support acts. In the end seeing Darius up ther would compensate for any inconvenience, boredom, painful ears or whatever I'd hadto endure until that moment.

If he was appearing at these festival things in between his own gigs/concerts/tour dates, then I'd book for the latter only and forgo the 'pleasure' of the shovel 'em on events.

as long as we get some warning...a couple of months at least....I'll need to sort days off
