Some didn't ever get going. Didn't one of the girls, [Rosie Ribbon?] go back

to working in a shop?

Rosie ribbons was born in Australia and entered Australian idol this year, she reached the last 24 and then was eliminated. She wrote her own songs and had a contract with Telstar with whom she had two top twenty hits but telstar got into difficulties and folded. She did have a good voice not always in tune but she deserved better.

Duncan james has moved on from chicago - from the sun today

EX-BLUE hunk Duncan James ties the knot — but don’t worry girls, it is only for the cameras.

Duncan, 29, is starring in Channel 4’s new comedy Plus One, being shown on October 19.

It follows a lad whose girlfriend (Miranda Raison) flees and weds Duncan.

I like Duncan, I think he is very talented, I hope he does well. I have always thought that he and Darius seem to follow

one another around workwise, i.e. Blue and D were always on the circuit together (along with GA) and then Duncan taking the role of Billy Flynn (I wonder if he asked D's advice!?). In the Daily Star the other day!!! there was a snippet that Will Young had been

asked to take part in Dancing On Ice and he had refused saying that he had done his one and only stint on a 'reality' show. As he had refused, they were (supposedly) going to ask Gareth Gates. I wonder if Gareth refused, they would ask D!! I know he would be criticised for appearing on a'reality' show, but we all know he can ice-skate and I think it would be a wonderful window to put himself 'out there' again before realeasing the new album. It certainly didn't do Duncan any harm!!! Any comments?!! :D

I'm not dead set against it, if it was Darius's choice, but I'd rather he steered well clear of reality shows, even ones requiring skill like DOI.

Winning LACGMOOH did absolutely nothing for Matt Willis and although she was in it for ages, SCD did nothing for Emma Bunton.

I think he'd only do that if he really wanted a laugh. The trouble is, he's so competitive that everything would be concentrated on it. I'd worry about the album.

Very true, Meg, and apparently auditions have already begun!! According to DS Gareth is rumoured to be competing and to be honest I think he would be silly to turn it down, if he was confident he could do it, of course. I don't know when he is planning to release more of his music, but a show like DOI certainly has a huge audience and would endear him to the public again!! Apparently all of the competitors have to have an understudy, so perhaps D could be Gareth's!! Both Gareth and Darius will have to do something to ensure that their music will get the necessary radio play/media coverage when they come to release and I do so hope that their management is working hard for them both, especially as I have read that Will is planning to release his next album around next April!!!

Hello BT - good to have you back :D

As you say DOI demands great skill, and we know how much D likes a challenge!!! I agree that Matt and Emma gained nothing sales-wise after appearing and I do tend to think that the public are very cynical about celebs appearing if they think they

are only doing it because they have something to promote!! - so in that respect there would probably be plenty of sarcasm if D did decide to appear! (......but, although it would be a risk, I still think it would be a great way of getting back into the public eye :D )

Following on from what Julia says about promotion and Duncan james formerly Blue,. I notice that Anthony Costa also formerly Blue is in Blood bros. at the moment but I also notice that advertised at the weekend was an 18 venue tour for him. This is without an album release so presumably he is relying on the exposure through blood bros and his fans from Blue. What I am getting at is D could do the same could he not but I wonder how anthony will do audience wise.

Yes, I saw adverts for Anthony's tour in the Sunday papers, too, Preston. I think that all the Blue boys are talented and all capable of 'making it' on their own! It was advertised that he would be singing songs that Blue made famous and new songs (which I assume will be his own!). He is perhaps doing this prior to releasing his own album - which I would think would be the obvious way to go!! Maybe, this is what D has in mind when he said that there would be plenty of gigs next year - we can only hope!!! :yahoo:

I don't know if it's wise for Gareth to do it either. It's a risk with our media. They could be really nasty before he even sets skate on ice.

I know... it certainly is a rotten world out there!!!.... Darius would take in on the chin and come out fighting! and I like to think that after all that Gareth has been through he is strong enough to do the same!! As long as they did reasonably well on the show and didn't make total fools of themselves I believe anyone who partakes in something so difficult demands a certain amount of respect. As Darius would say, 'never, never, never give up!!' if you want something badly enough!!

P.S. I find the thought of Will, Gareth and Darius all releasing tracks/albums next year really elating - I know it's silly, but I'm so pleased that all three of the boys are still around 5 years down the line (6 in D's case!!) :D

I thought some of you might like to read the review of chicago on tour from my local paper of which the critic reviewing does see the performance and is I think an honest critic.

Seductive, sexy and razor sharp.

Short of putting some well oiled robots in fishnets, you are not going to see a more meticulously choreographed stage show - ever. Throw out any thoughts that touring productions are watered down versions of west end shows because this one is an absolute belter. The production seemingly breezes over the logistical nightmare of touring a show of its size. Sexy, seductive and razor sharp, full of wit, elgance and charm the 10 years since its west end debut hasnt harmed Fred Ebb and Bob Fosses baby one jot.

The show is riddled with shameless sleaze, girls on the make, lies, deception and money grabbing lawyers. Roxie hart (Hayley flaherty) is on the make after shooting her love interest after being ditched. Once inside the confines of a detention centre, its down to wilting hubby Amos (andrew cooper) to come up with the cash so big shot lawyer (Ian kelsey) can save the day and perhaps find her some fame on the way. Its a bit like x factor with guns. Haley flaherty sets a storming pace as Roxy in the best rendition of the role Ive seen. She gives generous characterisation to a part often confined by the parameters of the text. Sharp suit clad Ian kelsey looked and sounded the business as lawyer, Billy flynn as did Dawn spence as Velma Kelly all be it slightly eclipsed by the brilliance of her colleagues. Kay Secombe (daugher of the late Harry) shows brilliance has passed on to another generation with her sturdy portrayal of Mama morton and Andrew cooper as stand in weakwilled Amos was solid, although simply too buff for the usual wimpish character. For an opening night lighting and sound were second to none. And backed by an elevated and energetic band, the likes of Cell block tango, Roxie and razzle dazzle were tunefully brought out. Chicago is one of those shows that leaves you impressed and inspired. how refreshing. The review is by a man Jonpaul hedges. He gives it four stars.

I don't know if anyone else has heard yet, but Wendy had some info through from The Passage on Monday regarding NUTS.

The only two people appearing whom I had heard of were Victor Spinnetti and Sherie Hewson - there were several musicians and a pianist but no Darius!! They did say that there would be a 'surprise guest' though!!

I think it was in the Streetwise opers. It said mystery stars to be announced. I'm waiting until they are announced. If he doesn't know what he's doing - I certainly don't.

I should think Chicago is one of the easiest shows to tour. One bandstand, no other sets, one costume per character and the props could go in one small suitcase. It's a show that depends entirely on the performances of those on stage - band, actors/dancers.

The Princess theatre Torquay is a reasonably large theatre but with an average size stage which limits flying. Howevr when I saw starlight express recently (which I hated) they added a large apron to the front of of the stage which worked well but for chicago the orchestra will be on the stage as it was when I saw it there two years ago. Will let you know what I think when I see it next week..

It's amazing what they can do with the little strip of stage left after the band is in situ, isn't it?

My favourite entrance is "Go To H**l Kitty"'s.
