Marti Webb must be getting on a bit. Is Maria Friedman related to that judge who was on one of Simon's shows and is still connected to the X Factor?

I wonder who's producing this show.

She is good though. Marti Webbisone of those who seems to have been around forever.
Am saying this jokingly. Getting a bit worried about Ds album release when I see the spice girls under virtually same management are going to be selling their album in lingerie shops. Wasnt D pictured at an underwear do recently.
lol, god no - the ploys used to shift units are getting tackier and tackier!! I am just hoping for an option to buy from his yourspace site - the sooner artists drop these money hungry labels and concentrate on the smaller picture the better imo

Madonna did a deal with Live Nation instead of another major record label. With Prince putting his out with a paper, Radiohead letting the buyer decide the price etc, artists don't seem to have much faith in the majors any more . Either that or they have to think up more and more ways to draw attention to their album because record companoies can't afford the sort of promotions they were doing only a short while ago.

Can you imagine how much it would cost now to make a short video, like for example, Colourblind ? No wonder so many are made with CGI or just in one hired space.

I saw 'Joseph' last night. There was nothing at all wrong with the cast, they were good but, I just prefer other shows I've seen. I'd love to see a school production though. It would seem perfect for that.

I enjoyed it when I saw it in Glasgow last, i think about 3 years ago, but it's not one I would go to see again.
I think I'd have liked it more if I hadn't been to at least 3 shows I thought were far more polished and professional. Having said that, I may take the kids as it's great for younger ones.

Over on Whatsonstage there is a news article about 'Gone With the Wind' opening next April. They say that there is

no decision on casting yet, but among those rumoured to be in the running for Rhett Butler, is Hugh Jackman!!

I wonder who else is in the running!!

Julie

I think D would be good in that. But whether he'd commit to a long run is another matter.

I'd go to see Hugh Jackman but to warrant the expense I'd have to turn it into a holiday. For Darius I'd make not one but several special trips. My Darius fund is purely for Darius related matters, no other entertainment or splurge. With him being away for a bit, it's beginning to build up again.
Much as I think he would suit Rhett butler in gone with the wind, it is going to depend for success on its music therefore let Hugh jackman start it off, and see how it goes. Cant imagine anyone else for the role of scarlett that would be as good as Vivien leigh, in that she was beautiful, delicate but wilful without being common if you know hat I mean (denise van outen comes in the latter category).
lol. I really wish darius would do something in the Westend! all I know is he is such a talent seemingly not being used....its definately making me bitter, as every time someone of lesser worth is thrust upon us along with the same old hype about them being so great I mutter and moan to myself dreadfully!

I do know exactly how you feel. I do think Darius is one of the most underrated entertainers in the UK and I also think that if he had remained in the UK instead of following his heart to LA, he would have been more in the forefront of people's minds and been given many more opportunities. He made his choice and he certainly doesn't seem to regret anything. He was so positive this year...........almost radiating sheer happiness. Perhaps some of that was because he knew he'd stepped up to an even bigger career challenge than ever and was sailing through it with style.

How I also agree with you but is that his choice, if so what a waste. He has been over there some time and was expecting to hear things in mags etc from there, we hear of others, but it hasnt happened. He is too young to completely wind his career down for pipe and slippers as it were.
