I wonder if he's even thinking of it. If he is, bang goes the album but it would be good for him. I can't imagine him signing to be involved with anything long term at the moment though.

I would think that he was more likely to go for a show that has proved itself. No-one knows how successful gone with the wind will be musically but we shall see but there again it depends on auditions parts are much in demand and there are a lot of other good singers out there.

I really don't care how long we have to wait for D's new album as long as he is happy with it and he knows that when it is released it will get the acclaim it deserves!! To do this I feel he has to be successfully involved with something else beforehand so that the public know he is still 'out there' and doing well!! (and the media give him a fair chance!! ) He will be mixing with all the 'right people' at Chicago on 5/12 and Andrew Lloyd Webber will be there so maybe something is (or will be) in the pipeline after that!! It really all depends on D's gameplan - I just hope he has a good one!!! :D

I can't see Darius even considering it. He'd have to commit himself to a full year in the UK away from Natasha and the boys - 6 months in theatre and 6 months promoting the album. Wouldn't he be far better off, coming over to gig and perhaps do TV work before launching his 3rd album?
Does Darius have a game plan? If he does, it seems to get changed an awful lot.
I was listening to Parky today in the car, with jackie Stewart, who has his autobiography out, called winning isnt enough, it was interesting that as he is a man who has lived a long life..that he said winning wasnt what it was about, that it was about being being successful long terms in all things..and most importantly family. he said improving and challenging yourself was more important than fame, money or the likes, that what mattered was producing something or pushing yourself to achieve something you were proud of, hence his books title, he said his wife had been ill some time back and it made him realise trully nothing in terms of money or fame or winning matttered to him, it was just shallow privildges that at the end of the day were dispensible. it made me think of Darius so much and his words about family being more important than fame etc, Darius does like to prove things to himself, and challenge himself, and does strive to push his music to be better and better - it made me realise that whatever Darius does will be what he feels is important.so I am happy to go with the flow.

I agree with PIP to some degree but Jackie stewart is of a completely different age now to Darius. Jackie has had his fame and virtually done it all, Darius is young and it would be unusual I feel for someone of that age to think the same as someone Jackies age, I know being older that I dont think the same at all to what I did when I was younger. There are lots of stars out there who are in the same situation as D but dont let their career grind to a halt as it were by no gigs, appearances etc. I feel Natasha has the best end of the bargain, she has her home there, children and career. it is more difficult for him but as he himself has said it is only a plane flight away so come on Darius get over here and do some gigs and promote yourself.

Snippet - Darius' friend daniel bedingfield's song Your not the one is covered by Cliff Richard on his new album. Would be great if the same thing happened for D.

I hope he is striking a happy balance, I know what you mean abou the age difference, Stewart has time to reflect over his life, as many do at that age, it just seemed to echo some things that Darius had said, especially the challenging oneself to new and better things, continually learning and improving yourself, producing something you are proud of for yourself rather than worrying about just the winning.
I do sometimes wonder if he will go down the producer, songwriter avenue because that way he can have the best of both worlds in that he can stay with the family more.

I would like that, although his voice is just too good to not be hearing..and he is just too good to look at to be behind the scenes..LOL I just hate this waiting, 2008 seems so long away at present

I would love some of his songs to be picked up by other singers,

I want him to be happy but worry that he may regret some things he's done/not done when he's older.

I feel that the longer he procrastinates, the harder it will be to get back

in the public eye.

I very much doubt if being in the public eye is of much importance to him now.

Jackie Stewart, as you say, was older and had time to reflect on his life. Darius although much younger, was pulled up short and went through much the same cathartic experience during his father's illness. If you've ever read The Journey you'll have some kind of an idea of how deeply emotional working through the process with his father must have been.

My impression is that he wants to balance his life, taking his family responsibilities seriously, pursuing his songwriting and singing but also looking more to building up his skills by constantly challenging himself to do different and more difficult things. If the latter brings with it the need to promote and thereby be in the public eye, he'll accept it as an occupational necessity.

I feel he's avoiding doing things that may be blocked by people here. I'd hate him to not have success as I think his relationships will suffer

Quote meg - feel he's avoiding doing things that may be blocked by people here

Ive always felt that things are being blocked by people here. On the other hand he seems to have been friendly with Seal for some time and he (Seal) has done very little over a long period also.Is it not a long time since Seal had an album out.

I think Seal is this month releasing his first studio album, System, for four years. Didn't he have problems

with his record company?

I've seen adverts for it on the telly. I can't remember if it said out now or not.
Seal has had more albums out than d which were more successful than D's. It is not the same thing at all.
No its not the same thing but I was looking at the time between seals albums and Ds, similar?
