yes, indeed the whole lot of the X final people make Darius look Like Bob Dylan!!

the only one with a voice and some personality..mm..is Rydhian, lovely name too.

 

but after hearing him, he really is only a one trick pony, his operatic trained voice is just what it says on the label..I am sure we can do without a solo G4 or El Divo spewing out more pop covers in orperatic voices, Johnathon form G4 has a solo deal now too..and I am sure he will be doing covers too.

 

Darius is the only person who genuinely does his own material, IMO..I prefer him to Dylan too, who had an awful voice and only a couple of songs I liked..and then they had to be sung by other singers..Brian Ferry and hard rain for instance.

 

 

I love that version of 'Hard Rain' - can't stand Bryan Ferry though.

I could never stand Bob Dylan - I preferred Donovan but wasn't really keen on either!!

 

Even though Rhydian does seem to put the same 'operatic slant' on every song he sings, he is a performer (as is Darius) and unlike Il Divo and Jonathon who all have amazing voices I would pay good money to see (and hear) Rhydian :wub:

When he sang 'You Raise Me Up' the other week I had tears running down my face :blush: - he was amazing!! It is not enough to just have a good voice if you don't have the ability to entertain and put on a good show - that, to me, is the difference between having the 'X' factor and not having 'it'.

Rhydian was the one I was referring to - I also would pay good money to see him - I switch over from strictly come dancing just to see him and then back again as the others are dire. For Julies information he is singing Somewhere this week which takes me right back, showing my age to PH Proby who sang it and split his pants. However Rhydian will have no trouble in hitting the high notes.

 

I wouldnt say Rhydian was a one trick pony in that he sang Pinks get the party started camping it up and then last week in naval uniform again camping it up Go west. Very entertaining but media reports seem to say he doesnt like to have to do it. He sang Raise me up straight in a suit. He does have an amazing voice.

well what I meant was..he only sings in that operatic voice..he sang lift me up really well, but the other gimmick songs he has sung have left me cold..mind you, having said that, even then he was a league above the other forgettables. not sure about the white hair..isnt he ginger..LOL..he'll have to admit he is ginger before the press out him..hehe

 

 

I think he didnt like having to have his hair like that nor the sequins which they made him wear but even so he gets away with it. There was a report that he threated to walk out because of it and that week he wore a suit and sang straight lift me up. This week who knows - Somewhere -

What determines the forum position in the Lounge? Is it the number of posts, or possibly the

number of posters active? And is the league weekly or monthly?

It's still the number of views, I think. That was how it was always worked out but members were unhappy with that and when the software was there to make it possible, the mods proposed calculating it on number of posts and so the next time a league was published, it was done in dual format : views - we were 3rd I believe and posts - we were no. 1

 

That was the last league based on posts up till now, as far as I know.

I see Gareth Gates is to appear in Dancing on Ice on TV toether with Greg rudeski, Darius' friend.

I'd heard the rumour that Gareth was going to do this. Is it now fact?

They were discussing it on GMTV this morning and he was mentioned so presume so.

I hope he enjoys it.

I'm sure he'll have fun and he'll put a lot of effort into it. He has in the other reality shows he's done, PI and that driving school one.

Its not over Xmas I think its sometime next year but earlier than next autumn.

looking forward to it - I usually prefer the ones who slip up - more entertaining
