I think he would have the bearing and gravitas to be positively regal, charming enough to win the fair maid and handle his rapier with skill to overcome the baddie. I'm pretty sure Darius did some fencing at school in Glasgow.

 

Have to say that I loved Stewart Granger (showing my age) and I can see a likeness with Darius to him. I think Darius could pull off the part of Rhett Butler as he is more mature than his age shows. I have a double video gift set of Gone with the wind and I do love it especially the music. The second video in the set is facsinating in that it shows the making of gone with the wind with all its special effects but also shows all the screen tests of all the other actresses who tried for the part of Scarlet and the screen tests for Rhett, melanie etc. Some of the actresses who did a screen test were famous in their own right including Bette davies, olivia de havilland etc. I think it will be harder to cast Scarlett as Vivien leigh was perfect, beautiful yet wilful and rebellious. but all will depend on the music.

I just want a new album

Dont we all but news is hard to come by if non existant.

I haven't watched any music channels for ages but as we had a family gathering today, I gave my husband the chore of deciding which music channel to play as background music - the first channel he tried was 'The Vault' and the first track we heard was........'Colourblind'!! :wub: :cheer: It was lovely to see and put me in a good mood for the rest of day! :D

I hope it's not much longer now before we get to see a new Darius video on the music channels.... :dance:

I really am in a deep black pit where music is concerned, quite moody over xmas at the rubbish on and feeling I may never find anyone who inspires me or moves me like Darius, nor do I feel inclined to from what I have been hearing either!!

 

 

I am desperate for a new album, and now so despondant that on hearing him saying the new album will be different in many different ways - am resigned to thinking he means a wedding album!!! put it down to post-new year blues, but I feel he is so far away now, hubby doesnt help by keeping on about how he is in the past.

I feel much the same way. I can't listen to anyone's albums now without subconsciously measuring them up to Darius's and I think "will these songs mean anything to me in a year?" and the answer is inevitably I don't think so. I get fed up with most chart songs just hearing them in the shops over 3 weeks or so.

 

I keep hoping that I will find an artist who can cover the bases for me - the warmth and range of the voice, the depth of emotion, the strength of the lyrics and the way they seem to relate to my own experience, the hope and inspiration which are interwoven in every D song and which have kept me going back to them over and over.

 

 

 

The new album of songs is due this year. Whether there's a wedding album, or another musical, doesn't alter things. Unless something he REALLY can't resist comes up, it'll be here. I'm fed up with waiting but, thee doesn't seem to be another option. At least this time, he is really certain it'll be this year.

Well I hope he is not going to get it wrong because according to the music industry sites Pop is making a comeback this year.

I dont think I want him to go pop - I am ok with the Norah Jones ilk, although darius does that already.. by wedding album, I meant his and Natasha Wedding photo album!

 

I really don't find pop grabs me - there are plenty of catchy ditties that come out on occasion, but none have any depth or meaning, just something to dance around to and forgotten very quickly. darius' song writing skills go beyond that or at least, from what I have heard these past years from him, they did. I know waiting is the only option, I can honestly say no one comes any where close in reaching out to me, vocally, musically or lyrically wise. come to that - on anything wise!! I am left cold.

 

I just wish we could get some more updates, I dont mind if he does musicals either..but an new album is what I need

I caught a bit of Darius on Pop Years 2 the other night. It was 1999, the year of HMBOMT and of course they wanted to tease Darius about it and inevitably showed a few seconds of that clip. He looked gorgeous (Rushes spikes?)as he parried with a laugh and "And we're not going there! "

 

It's a bit sad comparing that Britney with the mixed up young woman she is now. I can't imagine how dreadful it would be for a mum to lose access to her children.

Well we've just booked our flights....9th-27th May.....so watch out Darius will probably be about :(

Agree about the children but it is funny that her single this time and the last time has risen from way way down to No.9 this week and is predicteed to be No.2 come the weekend and the same thing happened with Amy winehouses' album, makes you wonder.

Maybe the physical CD is on sale this week.
