IMDB? They're very strict about what can be put on there. If it doesn't come into their categories, it just gets added in other and you need to click on it to see any of it.

It's the International Media Database and unfortunately Theatre is not media.

Theatre seems to be missed from a lot of places. You can't do a retake in theatre.

Maybe that's part of theatre's attraction........... unpredictability. I remember watching a show when Maureen Lipman was talking animatedly about all the things which had gone wrong in some of the productions she was involved with.

We don't seem to turn the spotlight on theatre much in this country, but it's noticeable that most of our finest movie and TV actors have theatre experience and despite earning millions per film, most still choose to do regular theatre work.

I'd never be away from the theatre if I lived in London. I so rarely get the chance to see wonderful plays.

I suppose that's why so many of the elite of British acting still admit to getting a touch of stage fright. Maybe they need that to get the adrenaline going.
I think tha's waht gives it the spark as well. You can't just think 'Oh well, I can redo it'

Although I dont live in London I am frequently at the theatre. we are very lucky here that we get a lot of shows on tour either in Torquay Princess theatre, theatre royal or plymouth pavilions. This week I am going to see Stepping out by the local Bijou theatre group, very professional and we have South pacific and Shout coming amongst others, the last mentioned has clare sweeney in it unfortunately but I am looking forward to seeing Sue pollard in it who has a great voice. Starlight express is on at plymouth but saw that last year and hated it.Imust say we hve some amateurs here equal to professionals acting and singing wise. If you remember I mentioned Glyn kerslake who was recently appearing in Treasure island at the derby playhouse, he started here and made the westend lead severals times in Phantom. les mis, miss saigon.

SorrY if ive bored yoU.

It's interesting to know what's going on in other parts of the country. I checked out the posters for the Kings and the Theatre Royal yesterday. There's a fair choice but none of which I really fancy, except The 39 Steps which I'll think about.

Zorro's on and Adam Cooper is in it so I did fancy it until I saw some clips of rehearsals at the Mayflower and I don't think I'd like it at all.

I went to the theatre in Woking once - and never again. It was badly acted, the advertised stars weren't to be seen. London is not much further and I'd rather go there.

One tiny local theatre I really adore and at which I've only seen amazingly good things, is the Watermill Theatre at Newbury.

I've seen a lot of good productions in Oxford too.

When I lived in Manchester i spent my time at the clubs instead of the theatre. I always though it the best place to be for the nightlife.

I found a lot more international articles about Darius as Rhett , including ones from Costa Rica, Australia and I think South Africa - It was germanic looking but not dutch so I think it was Afrikaans. There were some in script - Chinese and Arabic? Is Farsi written in script too. I didn't bring them over because they seem to be versions of the main ones we already have but it's good to know that all round the world it's news, even if it's skipped over in his homeland.

No news today? I'd got used to new stuff every day too.

Still there'll be Olivier pictures (I hope) this weekend.

I liked it better with the silhouettes in flames or torn flag depending on how you looked at it.It was very clever artwork.

Maybe they're going to superimpose Darius and Jill.

Look in the corner of the waving flag and the tears actually become a couple who kiss.
