yes, strange he was always called the PI pretender, must mean something, I know I have heard it only as pretender to the throne in films and I still am not much the wiser.

Can only imagine it was because he was so NOT the typical PI contestant and would have been a night mare had he won.

I don't think I've ever noticed him being called a PI pretender before. Maybe they mean contender - that at least would make some sense.

nope, I read it back then.

probably he really was the Spaniard in the works..LOL

I am so glad he never won, I like him being my Maverick.

Now that he's a bona fide actor and all, Brett Maverick would be a great role for him. He quite suits a cowboy hat although it does play havoc with his Taylor Ferguson styled hair.

Talking about contender, do you remember that celebrity boxing match a while ago with Ulrika's hubby? There was a rumour just afterwards that Darius was taking on James Martin next. I'm sure there was also an article where James Martin talked about starting the training. thank goodness James decided to be Mr Twinkletoes instead. I'd have hated to see Darius being hurt or hurting someone else.

Snippet - Star mag this week - Darius danesh leaving Pizza hut in the tottenham court road. Have posted the radio times thing on net - sorry if you have already done so PIP but couldnt see it and havent posted picture so think they might like to see that.

this is nice.

Darius is in the Radio Times and they have him clumped together with the winners! makes a change

Was this last weeks RT?

Further to the above, with thanks to Mae on Net who has posted as follows -

It lists him (in a picture) amongst the winners along with Will, Lemar, Shayne. Further on in the article it says : The only one to resist Cowell's advances from the original PI was Darius Danesh who came third. He pitched instead to Steve Lillywhite and was signed to a 5 album deal. His debut single Colourblind went to No1 and his album Dive In went platinum but recently Darius has shown an an admirable willingness to diversify including a book about PI days and a spot in the West End in Chicago:

Nice to see something positive being written about him.

The writer of the article is Benji Wilson.

that is a great peice isn't it! nice to read things put positively and as they are instead of taking a cheap shot like some of the media

I don't think it's fair they put Gareth amongst the losers. I'm a Darius fan through to the core but there's no denying Gareth had more success than D in the UK and they both had some international success with Gareth winning the best international male at the MTV Asian Awards.

I admire him for eventually standing up for himself and insisting on creating his album organically just like Darius did with Dive In. If he's learning the technical side, mixing and producing as well as playing his own instruments, and crafting the songs time after time in various genres and experimenting with various sounds, it will take time. That's no reason to call him a loser - lots of bands and singer/songwriters take longer between albums.

Sadly, if you're not on TV in this country or don't make a spectacle of yourself falling out of clubs, aren't a victim of addictions of some kind nor jumping from partner to partner, you seem to cease to exist in the public consciousness and get written off.

Natasha Bedingfield has allegedly been told that if she wants to make it in the US she'll need to become "a bad girl". She joked, so it's said, that she might have to start shoplifting from supermarkets.

Thanks, Preston. I never know if it's an out of date spotted or mistaken identity.

In a discussion of D's height, people were saying he was taller than he'd admit to but there was this one guy who was 5ft 11 and he was adamant they were all wrong because he was standing right next to Darius and Darius was shorter than him.

Have you seen the Darius look-a-likes on some agency sites? Very entertaining.

that is true, I do wonder how many of these sightings are in fact th eperson they pertain to be. have to laugh at someone saying they were taller than Dairus at 5' 11"

Well, I'm taller than Darius and I'm only 5'6". I'm also taller than my 6'4 and 6'3 males. It's only height aftwer all, and I more than make up for the any inches which may have disappeared.

Have you ever noticed weird little connecting references? It was on 19th August 1745 the original Young Pretender, Bonnie Prince Charlie, returned to Scotland to fight for his throne. He was very much a Popular Idol in his era.

Anne Frank's father Otto died on 19th August 1980, the very day that Darius was born and Darius later starred in the play The Diary of Anne Frank.

Do you remember Dottie from preston who alway posted good things about D on the vibe, today she has posted that Commander in Chief is the best US show at the moment.

I've tried to catch it a few times on the abc channel on Sky but I've missed quite a few of them. I really love Donald Sutherland in it.

I know she's the main character, the first woman president but I'm not that impressed - I don't know if it's the character or the actress, Geena Davies.

Natasha's character, Jayne, is efficient and very shrewd but a bit of a b*tch. She started off as Donald Sutherland's right hand woman and later became a lobbyist.

I think the show would do well here if was shown on a terrestial channel.

A question re Darius and Natasha - What were they doing when they got "plastered" and "down and dirty"?

Keep your answers clean, people!

Clues :

What can be more fun than dressing up in ??????, rolling around on the ground and plastering your mates with a barrage of well-aimed ??????

It's guaranteed to bond any group, or just a good excuse to get down and dirty

Are you lacking sleep........or is it me.....I haven't a clue what you are on about
