November 11, 2024Nov 11 Author Only 11 games in and it's 100% already a 2 horse race. Arsenal have absolutely no chance. They couldn't win the league with a 10 point advantage, never mind a 10 point deficit. Plus they've been shocking ever since conceding that last minute goal to City. Noone else is even worth considering. This season has all the hallmarks of 2018/19 and 2021/22 although the points totals will be notably lower. My favourite part so far is Arsenal telling everyone about injuries. Their injury crisis was massively over stated, they lost one player. Liverpool and City have already had more injuries this season already! All this talk now is pointless in my view. It's at the business end of the season where it all happens and City play their game. Christmas is when we’ll really be able to see. I think there’s a lot of bias with City though, they are not right at the moment. They’re giving up loads of chances in games and losing control, which the Guardiola hallmark. Sure, he might stumble upon a solution but structurally they are not quite right. When teams were beating City outside of a few exceptions, they were usually smash and grabs.. teams are literally dominating City at the moment for large periods of the game which I don’t think has happened on a consistent basis since Pep’s first season.
November 11, 2024Nov 11 Yeah exactly. Kovacic is a decent player alongside a Rodri but him as your leading CM is looking shaky
November 19, 2024Nov 19 Author Pep's signed a 1 year extension at City. Interesting. Cue all the links to the England/Brazil jobs..
November 20, 2024Nov 20 Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been given a seven-match domestic ban by the Football Association for using a racial slur about team-mate Son Heung-min. Bentancur, who has also been fined £100,000 and ordered to take part in a mandatory face-to-face education programme, was charged by the FA in September after comments made while appearing on TV in his home country of Uruguay in June. "Rodrigo Bentancur denied this charge, but the independent regulatory commission found it to be proven and imposed his sanctions following a hearing," said an FA statement.
November 21, 2024Nov 21 Chelsea captain Reece James has suffered another setback after injuring a hamstring in training, Blues manager Enzo Maresca has revealed. The 24-year-old missed much of last season after undergoing hamstring surgery, which was designed to help him overcome a series of injuries, but returned to action last month. Maresca played down concerns about a long-term lay-off but confirmed James will miss Saturday's match at Leicester. He said: "We have just one injured player and that's Reece [James] who unfortunately felt something small in training two days ago and we don't want to take a risk for the weekend.
November 21, 2024Nov 21 Winger Abdul Fatawu will miss the rest of the season because of a "serious" knee injury, Leicester City manager Steve Cooper has announced. The promising 20-year-old picked up the injury playing for Ghana, external in their draw with Angola during the international break. "It's not good, it's a serious injury," said Leicester boss Steve Cooper, whose side host Chelsea in the top flight on Saturday (12:30 GMT). "He's had an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury that is going to rule him out for the rest of the season. "It's a real blow, first and foremost for him, being a young player and having an injury as serious as what an ACL is. "Albeit, it can be quite common in sport and in particular football, but it's still a serious injury.
November 23, 2024Nov 23 It finished 4-0 in the end. Big win for Tottenham, knowing them they'll probably lose next week.
November 24, 2024Nov 24 Author City look so weak on the transitions, that midfield without a proper #6 can really be got out. Not sure Pep's worked out the solution to that problem yet..
November 24, 2024Nov 24 Already had it. Walker is 34 De Bruyne is 33 and injury prone Gündoğan 34 wasn’t wanted by Barca Sold Alvarez and didn’t replace him Rodri out for the season Stones is a part-time player these days They probably have ambition and psychology issues too this year. I’m almost certain they won’t win anything this year Basically saying what I said. They’re finished @ 1860405522496913576
November 24, 2024Nov 24 Only thing I wouldn’t agree with is Ederson, don’t think him being 31 effects him as a keeper
November 24, 2024Nov 24 And they were all only 1 year younger last season... It's totally down to losing Rodri, all the stats back it up.
November 24, 2024Nov 24 And they were all only 1 year younger last season... It's totally down to losing Rodri, all the stats back it up. Thinking one player has that much impact is silly. Football is often about small margins and all the margins are against them at this point in time
