I know it's an evil question :arrr: - but I need a bit of poll practice on here :P

So, if this works .... and if you could only have one of Darius's albums  - which would it be - go on be a Devil and choose, I know you've got it in you somewhere :P :D

I'm not voting in the poll because I don't have a favourite. If I could only keep one it would be Live Twice because Darius doesn't use his baritone on Dive In.

Are you trying to twist my words so you can cop out Baytree ;)

- Imagine the poll is worded "If you could only keep one, which would it be" then vote :D

or if you like .... have another (differently worded) poll after this one ;)

I've answered that.

I still don't like polls. They don't leave any room for discussion.

I think the two albums are so varied, it's impossible for me to make a judgment unless it's on minor grounds like the one I posted and I don't want such a silly reason to tip a balance maybe when other people have genuine opinions.

Darius writes songs about his own experiences and emotions and the circumstances under which he wrote Live Twice were very different than when he wrote Dive In.

Dive In for me, maybe if more singles had been release from Live Twice I may have changed my mind

What makes you think more single releases might have changed your mind?

I don't really know why, but albums that are cut short I don't ever really get into like Jennifer Lopez' Rebirth, only 2 singles, and it's my least favourite Jennifer album, because I don't see it in the charts much and I don't see any new videos or hear any new singles on the radio I automatically discard them, which is kinda what I did with Live Twice, I loved both singles released from it, but didn't really listen to it much

Hmmm very interesting, I wonder if that suggests the marketing/hype around a song has a significant part in whether we like it or not? ... I know it does generally, but I hadn't thought about that in terms of artists that you already know you like anyway, if you see what I mean. I'll have to have a think about whether that's influence how I feel about Live Twice, because I've played that one less than Dive In for sure. I thought it was for other reasons though, which I'll come back to another time, but I want to have a think about it in terms of other albums too like you have first :)

I paniced when I saw this

Even with the ....'if you could only have one'......

'Mercury Rising' is on 'Dive In' and 'Journeys End' on 'Live Twice'

...and then I started thinking about the other songs and was about to call it a day when I read Kelly's post.

I found that interesting....but I'm the opposite.

Although I love all the singles I find I can do without them....that is until I hear them again...if you get my drift

.....it may be because I heard them so many times.....non-stop playing prior to release

....so with that in mind....and although it tears me apart to have to choose.....I will go for 'Live Twice'.

I have chosen Dive In as my favourite for the poll, but I listen to Live Twice a lot more than Dive In at the moment. Doubtless when the 3rd album comes out, I will listen to that more than LT :)

I alternate them.

I play Live Twice more and I always play the whole album but sometimes I just set it to random.

On Dive In I always skip the singles and have for quite a long time. If I want to listen to a Dive In single I get out the singles and listen to the b-sides as well.

I have choosen Dive in but only how I fel today. My son Andrew loves this and always plays Dive In on our way to swimming galas altough the words in Dive in are about love it can mean about other things (if you want it go and get it) and we have galas all weekend again. So Andrew if you want it go and get it.

sorry if I went on a bit.

Tough choice but if I could only have one I'd choose Live Twice. I wish he'd released Better Man now, I think that would have been the fourth single released from it if he hadn't cut his ties with Mercury.

I've chose Dive In simply because Mercury Rising is on that one and I couldn't do without it.
I voted dive in, for the tour memeories, then I realised how many great memories I have cos of LT......
