Here we go. Will England finally be able to put together a forward pass? Will Countryfile be more entertainig? Will England's left hand side be addressed?

Couldn’t have asked for a better knockout game. Hopefully the game can be won by the 70th minute so Luke Shaw can get some minutes
I can actually see Slovakia beating us, which I wouldn't have said before the tournament. If we do win it'll be by the odd goal not by a routing. Expect extra time will be used.
Be interesting to see if the knockout give some of the big guns a kick up the arse to grab this tournament by the horns!

Last Four Meetings:

04/09/2017- England 2-1 Slovakia (World Cup Qualifying)

04/09/2016- Slovakia 0-1 England (World Cup Qualifying)

20/06/2016- Slovakia 0-0 England (Euros)

28/03/2009- England 4-0 Slovakia (Friendly)

I remember that last euros match, when Woy changed about three quarters of the starting XI despite the fact we hadn't mathematically won the group and then Wales went and pipped us.

1-0 at most. Our defence is excellent but we can only rely on individual moments to score.

Is it though? Don’t think we’ve really been tested yet.

That 1-0 in World Cup Qualifying was Big Sam’s only game in charge and the last game where Southgate wasn’t England manager.

Bring him back!

According to these BBC pundits he’s still refusing to start Palmer or Gordon but Mainoo will start. Mainoo started against Iceland and they lost that 0-1 I rate him, he’s part of the solution but one change is not just enough, that team needs more direct threats to open spaces for Bellingham and Kane otherwise they all take the same space basically the first 3 games all over again

If the rumours are true about the one change being Mainoo for Gallagher then I’m really at a loss. How that front 4 has stayed together and none of them dropped is baffling. Same can be said for Trippier too. Mind boggling.

Substitutes: Shaw, Ramsdale, Konsa, Dunk, Gallagher, Toney, Gordon, Watkins, Bowen, Eze, Gomez, Henderson, Palmer, Wharton, Alexander-Arnold.

Slovakia (4-3-3) Dubravka; Pekarik, Vavro, Skriniar, Hancko; Kucka, Lobotka, Duda; Schranz, Strelec, Haraslin.

Substitutes: Obert, Rigo, Gyomber, Suslov, Tupta, Benes, Rodak, Hrosovsky, De Marco, Duris, Bero, Ravas, Sauer, Kosa, Bozenik.
