July 23, 2024Jul 23 I'm gonna root for Mol and Sørum to repeat gold for Norway in men's beach volleyball. Was going to root for USA's Brunner/Crabb but just saw they didn't qualify </3
July 23, 2024Jul 23 did anyone hear about South Sudan being a minute away from beating the USA in a friendly basketball game yesterday? very impressive I hadn't! I did get the impression from somewhere that that part of the world were generally good at basketball though, glad it seems to be showing.

July 25, 2024Jul 25 Yup they're getting through the rugby sevens pretty quickly. Watched some of the handball this morning as was at a loose end and have to be honest didn't find it the most watchable sport. Basketball starting on Saturday will be more interesting I'm sure.
July 27, 2024Jul 27 France beat Fiji comprehensively in the Ruby Sevens. A shame Fiji couldn't defend their title but a first home gold medal must be good for French morale.
July 27, 2024Jul 27 I understand them starting the football matches before the opening ceremony since they have to space out the matches and don't do the final until near the end of the games but what's the point of them doing the early rounds of rugby sevens so early only to have the final on the very first day? Also boo France blocking the Fiji threepeat xx
July 28, 2024Jul 28 I understand them starting the football matches before the opening ceremony since they have to space out the matches and don't do the final until near the end of the games but what's the point of them doing the early rounds of rugby sevens so early only to have the final on the very first day? Also boo France blocking the Fiji threepeat xx The commentators talked about this, it was so they could hold the Rugby Sevens in the larger capacity Stade de France which is also being used for the Athletics later in the tournament.
July 28, 2024Jul 28 Our women are getting a mauling in Rugby 7s I mean at least they qualified, more than can be said for the men.
July 28, 2024Jul 28 The commentators talked about this, it was so they could hold the Rugby Sevens in the larger capacity Stade de France which is also being used for the Athletics later in the tournament. I see - fair enough then!
