I saw his TV programme a few nights ago. Wasnt that impressed with his new songs. I doubt he will make a very successful comeback even if he is writing his own stuff now.

That's interesting to hear your views Slowdown. Most people seem to have been quite impressed with the music. They may have had comments about the making of the program, but on the whole the music was what impressed people most about it.

I guess we can only wait and see how successful his comeback will be. Naturally I'm feeling a lot more positive about it :D

Well I didnt think his music was awful or anything on the programme, but I feel it lacked a hook basically. In other words, the songs werent strong enough to be released in the charts in order to give him the success he needs.

Slowdown 73 although I would love to hear that everyone thought Gareth wonderful, your opinion is valued and differences can make for interesting reading.

Quite obviously as a fan I want success for him but just listening to his new music and when it will be released, will do for the moment.

Thanks anyway.

Thanks for your answer. :D

Actually most of Gareth's new songs are very up beat, they just did not show it in the program for some reason. So with any luck you might change your mind once you hear them properly. :D

Yes, it seemed they only ever played the introductions to the songs, and stopped before getting to where you might expect a hook to be. I know a lot of people enjoyed what they heard, but with so much left unheard, such as the choruses, or any of the upbeat songs, it is inevitable there are people who will be wanting something more. Until full versions are released, it's not possible to tell if those people will be satisfied.

Gareth is doing a webchat on his official site next Friday, so we might at least get a few answers to what he is planning to release and when, and it might mark the start of proper promotion, such as making some music available on his MySpace. :cheer:

  Cant wait when Gareth do's his web chat next Friday :cheer: :cheer: :yahoo: it was great to get a email from him love the new pic he looks so gorgeous

New date announced March 19th, single yet to be announced
Gareth told us today in his web chat that the single will be 'Changes' and it would be released in April, exact date still to be advised. He already done the photo shoot for the album, and will do the video in the next 2 weeks. Cant wait for the promotion to start.

Gareth said the artwork for the Album had been done in a `Shipmakers' house. I wish he'd told us the significance of that

I can't even begin to imagine.

When asked what his favourite from the album was, he said `Pictures On The Other Side', which according to those who heard it at the gig back in November, is a summery song, so perhaps that will be the second release.

Roll on the start of promotion :yahoo:

I was REALLY pleased when Gareth told us during his webchat that the first single of his comeback is going to be Changes, It was also a bit of a surprise as when the documentary was shown there were suggestions it could be 19 Minutes that was to be the first single.

Also Gareth said Changes a very personal song to him, I can't wait for the promotion to start. :D :yahoo:

Thanks to Mikey for ammending the title.

Nice to have the single as Changes confirmed. Gareth never fails to surprise- I had definitely speculated on one of the others.

Just need to hear a bit more of it now. Pops over to Gareth's Myspace once again to see if any music added

Thanks for changing the Title of the thread Mikey.

That a much nicer one. At last, an almost definite date for release :cheer:

What's a shipmaker's house

My thoughts too. Wish he'd told us a bit more.

He's put another message up saying he'll answer some more of the questions he didn't have time for last night over the next week

I think he said ' ship - master's house' Not that that helps much :P

Excited about this. Roll on April.

Oops! You're right he did. He's such a joker. I never know when to take him seriously or not :yahoo:

Thanks Mikey for the info, I had also wondered what was meant with a Ship masters house.

That house looks great, and what a coincidence its called Bradford, lol

If the single is the one on the documentry I will get it, I really loved that song
Kalen, 'Changes' is the first song you hear on Gareth laptop, and at the end when he plays the keyboards. Its a beautiful song. :D
