February 11, 200718 yr I'm really struck by how different Angel on My Shoulder sounds, but the clip I'd heard of it before was from the gig, and it was an acoustic version. :P Gareth and everyone around him have played their cards very close to their chest over the last couple of years, so I don't think they'll be pressurised into adding the full song too soon. I really want to hear it all, but my sensible head says they need to hold off until they have a release date, and are ready to start promoting properly. He should have filmed the video by now too! :cheer:
February 11, 200718 yr I'm afraid since listening to these clips, I can't think with my sensible head any more. I'm much too impatient for the single and album. I suppose I should be used to all the intrigue behind it now, but its so much harder to wait after hearing the music :yahoo: Edited February 11, 200718 yr by val4jadan
February 12, 200718 yr Blimey at last the music is added. Love Changes as the comeback single. Still very Gareth, but with a mature instrumental sound. Got to have 'Lost in You' LISTEN HEREas second single. It is so blooming different to any of his other stuff  . So glad he hasn't chose it as his first single. Now bring on the video and bring it on quick. Can't wait to see what he comes up with for Changes.
February 17, 200718 yr There have been two very positive articles in the newspapers about Gareth's return :cheer: Yesterday in The Star, Joe Mott was saying he thinks Gareth is in for a hit with Changes, even though its not his cup of tea. He seems to have been told that it will be out early April  Then today, (pick me up off the floor) Victoria Newton here thinks he's on his way to another No1 That must be the first time ever, she's had anything good to say about Gareth :yahoo:
February 17, 200718 yr I am so pleased that it looks like the promotion is slowly starting, and I want a copy of the song too, lol I think it wont be long until we hear definite news about the date, and I think we will be able to see the video soon too, I wonder what it will be like?
February 17, 200718 yr Could someone send me the new single please? I liked Gareth, the first album was good, nice to listen. I didn't have a listen to the 2nd album, but I'm still impatient to hear to his new material :D
February 17, 200718 yr No-one, other than the chosen few have gotten hold of the full version of the single yet, but you can listen to a clip of it on Gareth's MySpace http://www.myspace.com/garethgatesmyspace Its beautiful and haunting
February 17, 200718 yr Then today, (pick me up off the floor) Victoria Newton here thinks he's on his way to another No1 That must be the first time ever, she's had anything good to say about Gareth :yahoo: I was particularly shocked when I read what VN had to say, because Joe Mott has said nice things in the past. I was waiting for the sarcastic comment, but it didn't seem to be there. Maybe the bit about the guitar was supposed to be sarcastic, but it just looked silly. Gareth's been playing the guitar for years, so if she thinks it's an exclusive that he's been spotted playing one, then she's back on form. I assume if the song has gone to the newspapers, it must be almost ready to be played on the radio. Any radio people on here who can enlighten us?
February 20, 200718 yr Gareth is doing a showcase for the media on Wed, be interesting to see what they all think of his new music. :D
February 20, 200718 yr i wonder when they plan to release the isngle any dates yet? All we know is April. No definite date yet.
February 20, 200718 yr The Star said "early April", but I'm hoping we'll get a specific date after tomorrow night's showcase. Have you seen the new video clips on his MySpace? It's great to hear him talking about who he has worked with and the whole song-writing process.
February 20, 200718 yr Yes, I watched those. It was lovely to hear him speaking so well. Its great to see he's being given the freedom to write and sing music he feels so strongly about at last. So glad he's away from SBMG and Simon Cowell. What idiots they were to try tying him down the way they did.
February 21, 200718 yr Changes will be released on 9th April 2007, with his album "Pictures of the Other Side" not far behind. :) Edited February 21, 200718 yr by Andrewy
February 21, 200718 yr Yes, Gareth has updated the holding-page of his site http://www.garethgates.com/ with the details. Its looking very snazzy

February 21, 200718 yr Thanks for posting that up. Bit puzzled as to why Joe Mott would give a review today, when he's not going to actually be reviewing the album until this evening. If you have a look on his blog site, that's what he actually says. I can't think who in their right minds would review something they've only heard bits of, other than Joe Mott of course. From reading that, it appears he's actually only heard the snippets of the songs which Gareth put on his MySpace. As for the comment about Ray Quinn, probably in response to VN giving the opposite opinion. These journalists are always out to get one over on the other aren't they. He also seems not to be able to make his mind up from one day to the next. It was only two days ago he was saying `MATURE GAZ, SET FOR HIT'. Oh well, I don't suppose any of us expects any other from Joe do we. We all know what an idiot he is.
February 21, 200718 yr Today is a brilliant day for Gareth Gates fans. We have waited all this time to hear of a definite date for a single release. Other artists have come and gone but still we have waited patiently. Today I am forgetting Joe Mott's review as he is going to see Gareth tonight and my wish is that he would have kept his review till after, but there goes- it was his opinion and you can't please them all. I wouldn't dream of ever spoiling the delight of other fans and their excitement, but there that is a Gareth fan for you. Thanks goodness fans of all artists aren't the same. Now wonder who is going to the showcase tonight and wonder what they will think of Changes out on April 9th.

Anyway it doesn't matter what the likes of Joe Mott has to say if Gareth has he enough fans eager for his music he will do ok.
