The toxicology report stated he had several substances in his system

Those substances included "pink cocaine" – a recreational drug that typically is a mix of several drugs including methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others – as well as cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack. An improvised aluminum pipe to ingest drugs was also found in his hotel room

There were no defensive injuries and the pool was a long way away so it’s very unlikely he was jumping for the pool and it’s almost impossible not to protect yourself at all if falling intentional or not, so police suspect he may have been unconscious when he fell and more of an accident but it’s deemed inconclusive at this moment in time and all evidence suggests nobody else was in the room at the time.

But how could he have climbed up on to the balcony if he was unconscious? That bit doesn't make sense.

Without wanting to speculate, pink cocaine (which looks like Liam allegedly took) can make people hallucinate. Could be something as simple as he had a bad trip, was locked in his room and tried to get out.

But how could he have climbed up on to the balcony if he was unconscious? That bit doesn't make sense.

It was in the bedroom of the hotel where he was.

Scenario would be probably more like: he was sat or leaning against the balcony edge, then passed out, and overbalanced.

Max Balegde put up a statement:

“Hey guys - you might have noticed that I've been away from

socials for a few days, and I've had a lot of people ask me why l took down my videos about Liam Payne. The reason for both of these is out of respect to this tragic news. I always want my pop culture based content to be light hearted, so it of course didn't feel right to leave those videos up given the awful news. Sending love to everyone affected by this loss 🫶

I do see both sides surrounding him, to be honest his video content regarding Liam was very ott he made waaaay too many videos about it (apparently over 50) bit also, they were obviously jokey videos. So I do think he’s right to take them down and make a statement but people blaming him for liams death is also crazy because it’s not like max was the only one making videos about it?

Yeah, I don't think fans who are blaming individuals for his death should be listened to. Plus it's pretty crass.
Bittersweet to see the chart impact in wake of this news. New peak for Night Changes at #6, Story of My Life #9, WMYB #23, Strip That Down #41, For You #43, and Teardrops new at #85 at last  plus all five 1D albums in the UK top 40 and LP1 back in at #62.

Three people have been charged in connection with Liam's death. From the BBC:

"Argentinian prosecutors said one person who accompanied the artist has been charged with the abandonment of a person followed by death and the supply and facilitation of drugs.

A hotel employee and a third person have also been charged with supplying drugs. None of those arrested have been named."

I'm struggling to understand what this means in the context of a crime you can be charged with

I was wondering the same thing? How can you be charged with that exactly?

Also wonder, if this was an every day person and not a famous celebrity making worldwide news, would that specifically be considered a "crime?"

The supplying drugs one I get completely.

I assume it's related to the state he would've been in at that point - it can't have been safe to leave him in a hotel room (especially one with a balcony) on his own. I'm not clued up enough on the law to say for sure.

But he is not a child though, I would get it if that was the case, but he isn't anyone else's responsibility? Will be interesting to hear more about that one for sure.

Literally just heard on Radio 1 news that it's a specific Argentine crime that surrounds leaving someone alone when they were clearly in a vulnerable state... or something like that.

The funeral is today. A shame in a way that paparazzi are there but I don't think that was avoidable.

Disappointed but not surprised by the scummy paparazzi turning up. A gross invasion of privacy.

Sending love to Liam's family and friends on what is undoubtedly an extremely difficult day.

It did make me uncomfortable the thought of paparazzi turning up at the funeral, but then I was curious enough to check out the pictures as well.
