I thought that Morgan Wallen song would be much higher than #45 on Spotify tbh. It's excellent imo.

Also APT. has surprised me in a good way.

What a flop for JADE! Well, I like the music video but the song is far inferior to Angel of my Dreams. I like it even so, but I'm not suprised it will probably miss out on Top 40.

I absolutely love 'Fantasy', but I don't think it's a hit sounding song at all. It doesn't have a "big" hook and it sounds quite niche.

 

But I don't think she's squarely aiming for big chart hits anyway so it's fine

She probably hindered herself releasing it so close to MC should of had the "promo track" after the single

It’s nowhere to be seen on the Spotify or Apple Music Top 200s.

I wonder if "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" could surprise #1 if "Taste" goes to ACR and label requests a reset? Either way interested to see if it gets much of a boost after Billie's SNL performance.

I'd forgotten 'Night Changes' only got as high as #7 before - think there's a reasonable chance it could get a new peak with how well it's holding up on streaming so far since the Liam news (and the very low bar for the top 6 at the moment), fingers crossed. Always been one of their better songs for me and definitely a poignant one in the circumstances. (On the other hand I've never been a fan of 'Story Of My Life' at all but ofc can see how that's an appropriate choice for the moment as well)

 

Happy to see 'For You' getting some flowers too (easily Liam's best solo track and one of the best 1D solo tracks in general), hope it can jump ahead of 'Strip That Down' tomorrow.

All the 1D/LP tracks seems to be down on AM already (Liam's solos out of top 50) and it's early Sunday so don't expect them super high on Friday chart. Would be interesting to see if the OCC resets them for the mids already though.

Spotify’s main Christmas playlist updated recently, and Mark Ambor’s cover of ‘Run Run Rudolph’ seems to be the main original they’re pushing this year, after Laufey made the Top 40 with hers in 2023.

 

No big changes on it really, aside from other new Spotify originals from Dasha & Kesha, and a 2021 Teddy Swims cover of ‘Silent Night’.

Guess it might save Mark Ambor and Dasha from one-hit wonder status.

 

I'm glad Wizzard are on the main playlist this year, I think they were on Christmas Crackers but not Christmas Hits last year. No Slade though.

There seems to be a real disconnect between some labels and what the public want/like. I love Fantasy but it's never ever going to be a hit and the video isn't it either! Talents being wasted again...after all the momentum of AOMH. Tears for Perrie was hilarious, the fact that someone in management thought that would be a good idea. Could name a handful of tracks that have been released and ruined careers. Bit dramatic with Jade but the momentum has now gone with this.

APT. Rose almost 4M WW streams on a Saturday to 10M streams, the weirdest jump I've seen in my life,

Anyway in the UK it rose 16 spots to number 12.

Taste number 1 surely this week also...

Rosé and Bruno up 16 to #12!

'APT.' will be that song that increases each day for the next few days and I wouldn't entirely rule it out being the next UK number 1....

 

I really hope it can stop the snore fest of 'Sailor Song' getting there, at least!
