May 9May 9 https://www.instagram.com/p/DJbVQPtMQTw/?img_index=1My 8th studio album, she’s on her way!I’ve been singing for 30 years now - i know! - and throughout my career I’ve been lucky enough to happily play with many music genres, but my heart beats the fastest for pop. This album is a celebration of that relationship. In fact, it’s a celebration of lots of things, including being the age I’m at and still having so many adventures and so much fun!I turned 46 last month and I’m enjoying getting older. I’m feeling more excited than ever about the music I’m making, and believe me when I say that is a GREAT feeling! It’s thanks to many things, not least the women that went before me and the women who will follow. I’ve also found myself surrounded by so many incredible women and been talking to many for my podcast. Plus finally, and crucially, I’ve been able to work with so many talented folk. Old friends and new, it’s been glorious.💥‘Perimenopop’ is an album that’s intention is to bring you joy; it’s fun, it’s bold and it’s playful. I had this incredible feeling while I was writing it, that I didn’t have to try to be anyone else. I could just head towards what excited me and what excited those I was working with. That feeling is in part down to you and your support. Honestly, it’s the best gift you can give me when I’m creating new music. Thank you so much. ✨❤️ Excitingly, you can pre-order the album right now! ❤️To celebrate, I’m throwing a very special launch show in one of my favourite London venues, KoKo, on September 8th 💃 pre-sale goes live next Wednesday 14th, general sale on Friday 16th. Pre-order ‘Perimenopop’ via the link in my bio before next Tuesday 13th May 2025 for pre-sale access. It’ll be the first time I play the album in full live, alongside some old favourites too of course 🥳Oh, and my new single ‘Taste’ is out now! Co-written with the brilliant @jonshave and @mnek, it was one of my favourite days in the studio and makes me dance every time I hear it.Busy day, eh?! But then again, why pause when you can pop? 🥂 🪩She also gave this quite interesting insight in her story:"At the end of my twenties it seemed I was pushing too hard with my pop music and not really getting anywhere. I switched to some incredibly meaningful more left-field albums. They meant so much to me but my collaborator Ed Harcourt and I always envisaged 3 albums and done. As I released the 3rd of the albums made in that chapter - Wanderlust, Familia and Hana - I knew it was time to go back to pop"
September 11Sep 11 Album out tomorrow, 'Stay On Me' was dropped this morning! I think I like it more than 'Dolce Vita' oops
September 12Sep 12 Stay on Me is easily my favorite since the lead single, didn’t realise Freedom had over 5 million streams on Spotify? I don’t feel particularly enthusiastic about giving the album a listen, please can somebody highlight the standouts 😊
September 12Sep 12 I’ll need to make time to listen to this next week. My weekend is flat out, so hopefully on Monday.
September 12Sep 12 Yeah this is actually better than I expected! Of the new songs, 'Time' is my favourite, it's very Carly Rae Jepsen. Shout outs also to 'Glamorous' and 'Diamond In The Dark'. There's definitely a couple of skips but on the whole a good effort. Colour me pleasantly surprised!
September 12Sep 12 Didn't vibe with this, too similiar sounding tracks one after the other. Had to skip ahead on some tracks I felt kinda bored. Did like Relentless Love though.
September 13Sep 13 Just been to her album signing on Oxford Street. What an absolute darling she is ❤️

September 17Sep 17 After a few listens, I would say Time is my favourite of the album tracks. Her voice sounds so sweet on it. Glamorous sounds like it was made for Rupaul’s Drag Race. Not sure if that is a good thing or not, but it feels the least ‘Sophie’ song to me if that makes sense. Overall though, the album is very enjoyable and I will probably go back to this more than I have any album since Make A Scene.

She was super lovely, she also answered my question in the Q&A at the end - I asked if she'd ever considered doing a "lost tapes" or anti tour project, to which she said that her and her husband Richard are seriously considering such a move - although nothing more than an hour and a half as she likes to give herself boundaries.Loving this album. Think my favourites so far are "Layers" and "Don't Know What You've Got Until It's Gone".
September 20Sep 20 Great to see her go top 5 but unfortunately here in Ireland it didnt chart in the top 100 this week which is very disappointing.
September 20Sep 20 Actually it’s a very good album, better than some of the singles suggested! Her best since Wonderlust to me. Also happy she charted nicely.
September 20Sep 20 Not a huge Sophie fan but decided to give this album a chance, a lot of it wasn’t for me but “Time” is excellent
